Clarke welders

Who has experience with these? I assume they aren't for the heavy use I know
some put on a welder, but I couldn't pass up the price per amps. I know some
guys very satisfied with them, just thought I'd ask here.

I'm getting this one:

Bought a Clarke due to the price several years back. Could not weld 1/8" strap iron with the flux core wire. Called tech-they said I had to upgrade to gas. Yeah right took the pos back and went to a welding outlet and bought a Lincoln-never looked back. Clarke no doubt has made some changes. Lincoln has a copper transformer. I think the Clarke was aluminmum and the unit was made in Italy-maybe still is.

My friend has one that I've been borrowing for the last year or so. I'm not sure if it's the welder that sucks or if it's me that sucks (probably both). Anyone know where to find a manual for a Clarke?

i've got the 130. still using flux. it melts 1/4" ok. take my time and make sure i use proper prep and all. mostly use it on .120 or .180.

looking to step up to a 175ish machine soon.

I like my 180 for my application, seems to be all I need in my little shop.

Only down side is the short whip that comes on the machine, it really sucks and I have yet to find a longer whip from Clarke.
