Thanks for the help guys! A shop sells aluminized mild steel (as opposed to just mild steel). I'm new to the welding game and just bought a GMAW Lincoln 175 MIG. Is welding aluminized mild steel the same as mild steel as far as technique, settings & gas (75%, 25% argon co2) or will a different process be needed. Thanks for any help.

There's a guy selling J's and U's on Ebay. I bought some for a custom intake setup I was working on. Nice stuff. THink they were like $10-12 a bend?
On the aluminized, just grind down to steel to weld it. Its just a coating.

Thanks, you're way ahead of me, thats the place I was planning to buy it from. Also, thanks for the tip on just grinding down to the steel to weld it. Jim Quote:
