I am looking into getting a porta band saw to cut tubing with. I was just wondering how many others out there use these for the same thing and what the positives and negatives are of using them and what is your favorite brand and model? Thanks
We've used Porter Cable portabands on our construction jobs for as long as I can remember and they seem to be bombproof. We've had good luck with most all of Porter's powertools now that I think about it.
Edit: Get a variable speed model if you can afford it. They make precision cuts easier to start.
I have used porter cable, milwaukee, metabo, and the new dewalt. I owned a milwaukee deep cut and sold it to buy the new dewalt. Take a long look at the new dewalt before passing on it because people who haven't used one say to buy a milwaukee
