I got a Speedaire model #5Z639A that has a broken flywheel pulley. Ive spent all morning looking for a replacement. If anybody knows a source for those things I would appreciate the help. I need to get this thing hooked up, my 20 yr old craftsman is dying.
Unfortunately I can't remember the company name but I ran into the same problem and found a flyweel at a place in Chicago. The wheel was much less expensive than I expected. IIRC it was $85 + $25 for shipping for a 10Hp 3Ph 300CFM multihead unit. He may have access to the smaller stuff too.

Try Grainger. Grainger carries a bunch of speedaire parts and compressors. I was surprised that my local ACE hardware carried a bunch of flywheels. There is a place here in Sacramento called the Air Tool Store and they do all repairs and sell a bunch of parts. They also buy old broken compressors for parts.
Speedaire is a grainger "brand".... they carry everything you need, but you need an account to buy from them, and its not liek youc an just set one up, you need to be in the buisness. Luckily I can use my dads account.... you need to know somebody in the buisness.

Around here, you just give them the name of the business you work for and tell them you are paying cash. I've never had a problem buying from them. It may depend on what you are buying.
At mine there is a small "store" in the front that sells alot of impulse type items, like cleaners, Some hand tools, etc. that you can just go in and buy from, But for thier usual stock, you need to call ahead of time and then you go and pay for the order. You also need to have an account number.
Thanks for the tips guys. A friend of mine said I could use his tax ID#. A guy from Air compressor exchange in Ohio is supposed to call me back Monday. If this goes as usual I will find one laying in the road the day after I buy a new one.
What I have found out so far is the pump #5F566B needs a 16.5" flywheel.
I have a flywheel off a ??? compressor, I would ship to you if it would work. I can measure it tonight and let you know. If you're interested.
The pump took a dump (LOL) and I have all these pieces and parts laying around. I know it's decent size, the comp was a 2 stage commercial type. Probably could use some cleanup since it's been outside for a while, but it would be free (just shipping).
16.5"OD The shaft it goes on has a slight taper from 1 5/16 to 1 3/16 there is also a keyway 3/8 wide and 1/8 deep.
Heck if its even close I could probably get it to work.
Crap!! I forgot about this thread. Been busy building the new shop for the last week so I was away from the 'puter. I will measure today and get back to you!
OK, measured that thing last night (it's off a Wayne compressor BTW) and it measures 17.5" in diameter, the taper is about 1 1/16" on the small to 1 5/16" on the larger end. I'd say it weighs about 35-40 lbs but not sure. I needs some TLC as it's been sitting outside for a while. It has two V grooves for a double belt setup.
Don't have the pressure switch, scavenged that for my OBA already.
The pully I ordered came in and Ive spent the last few days getting it running. I used the pressure switch off my craftsman to test it. The specs for this pump say 23cfm@175psi. It took 5min to pump up the 80gal tank to 175psi. So Im happy. $350.00 is what I have in it so far including a pressure switch thats on the way.
As far as your pully, if your still willing to box it up I'll take it. I would add some beer money to the cost of shipping for your trouble.
My zip is 32566 for shipping.
OK, lemme look around for a box and get a weight on it for you. I think the PO has a deal where you buy this one size box and you can ship whatever fits inside pretty cheap. I'll let you know in the next day or so.
Ken
