What you linked is a bead roller. That is a neat tool that can form flanges and beads into sheet metal. That can be used on flat panels that need a flanged edge or beads for asthetics.
If you want to bend a corner, look into sheet metal brakes. If you want to cut a straight line, check into a shear.
There is some good info about sheet metal interiors in the Metal Fabricator's Handbook by Ron & Sue Fournier. That book has a TON of great information and is well worth purchasing if you are intersted in any kind of fabrication. It will show some of the equipment you can use and techniques for making interior panels. Check it out at a local bookstore and you will probably end up buying it. I read it for about two hours in the bookstore before I finally broke down and took it home. Now I go back and read it all the time - love it!
X2 on the Ron & Sue Fournier book. Seeing what they are doing and the tools that they are using to do it will go a long way toward your decisions as to what tools to buy for your applications.
That's what I was looking for sweet, thanks.
$99 saves me time and effor and I can start fabbing up some interior piecs.
16g is thick enough for interior piecs that are joind/braced properly.
Can someone show me some examples of what the outcome of the product I posted does?
I have one of the tiny HF brakes, 18". As long as you don't try to use sheetmetal too thick, it does a fantastic job. I'd like a bigger one like those pictured, but I'm saving for a shear/roller/brake.
As for pics of parts made with one, the parts are all welded under folks' trucks and undercoated :flipoff2:
As much as I like my tiny little brake, I'm often amazed at the work that can be done with a coupla pieces of angle iron, a vise and a hammer!
Wish I had a press, even the $800 55ton HF press would be nice.... no money for one right now, and definetly no money for the 'addons. Someday, $180 isn't bad for a standalone that can do thicker sheet metal.
your going to bend with it. no wonder you need 55 tons thats some heavy duty bending. look at companies around you either closing up or selling off eq. saw a hyd 60 ton unit for $500 if i had the room and cash it would be in my garage
I got one of these, and a full 36" of 16 ga. is a pretty hard pull. it will do it, and it does ok, but you'll want to lengthen the handles on the wing.
I originally bought it because I thought it would do 12 ga 36". (I didn't get to see it assembled in the store, as there were no on display)
for the $$, a decent deal, but as with all things HF, you get what you pay for.
