new tube bender tool

While looking throught the March 2006 issue of 4Wheel & Offroad they have a bunch of pictures from the Off Road Expo. One of the pictures is a tube bender that they've put some sort of rack and a gear box tomake it a somewhat non maunual bender. I went to there website, www.jmrmanufacturing.com but they have zero about it. Anybody seen this thing in person or have any details?

i have used one. It is pretty sweet. easy to use and with the ratcheting gear mechanism, it is very easy to make identical bends... I would recomend it to anyone

I wonder about pricing. It looks alot cheaper than hydraulic ram setup and using an air ratchet whould be pretty fast and slick.

air ratchet probably not strong enough, and it is engraved right on there, NO IMPACTS. So a standard 12" ratchet is the way to go. Not as fast as hydro, but easy, cheaper, and accurate

their notcher looks good. i have been thinking about making my own so i can make notches in a radius. it sounds like this could do that and it looks pretty stout. i have not seen the bender.

I was also interested in the ratcheting manual bender... until I found a vendor that sold them. The price wasn't on the JMR website, but if you search for their vendors you can find it. The price was $1295! No thank you, I'll stick to the one I've got. I think the vendor was VanSant Enterprises.

I was thinking that this might be an easy and cheaper way to bend than getting all the hydraulic parts, but sounds like I'll keep bending by hand!!

I actually spotted one of those over at ORW the other day, right before my subscription issue showed up with the pic. ORWs price tag on it is 295. bout the same as the JD2.

Trick-tools.com lists the 1000M manual bender for $1295. That is the one with the gear, tooth, and ratchet assembly. Definitely not $295, although we may be talking about a different bender.
