Mill/lathe
http://www.grizzly.com/products/G0492
What do you guys think about this? I have been looking at mills and lathes for a while. I cant find a good used lathe or mill i can afford. I have found a used central machine 14x40 lathe for under 2k, and a nice well equiped mill for 2.5k, but they will take up ton of space and end up in the 4-5k range. This unit is cheaper and takes up less space. I know these combo machines are not going to be great like a big bridgeport, but for one off pieces, I was hoping it would do the job. I like how the mill head is centered and not over by the lathe head. Plus it rotates both directions so you can do a lot with it. How ridgid it is would be interesting to see. |

I dunno. $3500 after shipping? I say keep holding out for used. Don't get impatient. Buy a quality used lathe OR mill and save up for the other.
