So I have a Hobart Handler 175 and tried to check their site to compare with northern tool...
I'm looking for an extension cord. My 220 is at a great spot, I just have a garage with 2 doors and to get the dually in is work and the trailer wont fit in. If I had a 20ft extension, I could weld in my driveway. Where can I get a cord like this? I couldn't match up anything at northern tool
You can make your own: some SO cord, cord caps and a little time. I don't buy cord ends or receptacles from the local hardware, because they're home owner grade junk. I go to the electrical supply, and buy industrial grade, which cost a good bit more, for the durability.
Or, you can buy one for pretty close to the same price:
Last time I did that I found no appreciable difference with the 6-50R or 14-50R. At least not anywhere near as much as I found between the 5-20R residential and industrial.
When I was in your shoes I went to home depot, lowes, ace hardware, etc. and couldn't find the parts I needed. IIRC, HD and lowes could do the wire and one end of the cord but not the other.
I ended up pickup up a 25' cord from ebay and I'm happy.
Yep, I got my 25' extension cord on Ebay. The cool thing about production cords is the molded ends, which aren't necessary but are slick IMO. The cost was quite reasonable I thought, but I haven't priced 'em recently.
