My "new" Hendey 14x6 Lathe
Well guys here's the latest addition to the Cash garage. It's a Hendey 14x6 that was mfg in Dec 1927. It's in great shape, I have the whole history on it from its mfg date, and the best part is it came with lots of goodies. :smokin: It will swing 14.675" and has a useable bed length of 35.25"
Included are:
3 and 4 jaw chucks with extra teeth
taper attachments
face plate
extra belt making parts and dressing
crossslide, tool holder, and tailstock
set of original collets
drill chuck
box of cutting tools
I wish that the hole through the spindle was just a bit bigger so I could do 1.25" steering links. I'll either have to turn down adapters or go to a smaller size tube.
For power it has the original 3 phase motor with a single phase motor piggybacked off it. I'll probably leave it this way so if I am ever in a place with 3 phase I'll have it.
Everything runs great and true. All I need to do is clean it up, put the drive unit back on after the move, and run some electrical.
Now for the picts... :grinpimp:
Here it is at the original owners place fully assembled.
The feed gearbox...
Belt drive...
Crossslide and tool holder
Collets, there are a few missing so I'll have to find those sometime...
I'll post some of the move later...
Oh and BTW it was all $500 :flipoff2:
