Sorry have to have my gloat. CL ad said Millermatic200 wont turn on, price $275 obo. I got there first and looked at it and it hadnt obviously been on fire so I asked him you want 275? and he says I will take 250. I cant bring myself to try offering less. Paid him the 250 and take it home and found the 2 gun trigger wires shorted together and both also shorted to the main power cable that runs inside the gun lead. A little j-mac tape and its good to go. I have an extra regulator already just need to get a bottle tomorrow. Looked up the SN and its a 1991 model. It needs some new blue paint but it still looks good next to my synchrowave 250 I also closed on an 8.5 acre property out in the country last week for my future shop and house to be built on and things are going great for once. Almost scary. Later, Dave
I love my mm200 I bought it used many years ago, it just keeps on welding, no fuss or hick-ups. I agree mine looks real good sitting next to my old school Syncrowave 350 (its bigger than my fridge).
Yeah, I had the use of a MM210 for the last couple years that my buddy left in my garage and I almost cried a couple months ago when he came and got it, cause I have projects coming up. But the world is OK now I have another big powerful beautiful miller mig machine. Oh sorry got carried away
So you got that one? I saw it the other day and was real tempted to go after it, but I'm in the middle of the move and the last thing I need right now is more tools!
Does yours have the 14 pin connector or the 4 pin connector for a spool gun? I'm trying to figure out 'roundabout what year Miller switched to 14 pin. Mine's an '87 model and still uses the 4 pin amphenol for the old Spoolmatic 1.
The machine base settings inside the cover are for 100% CO2 on mine. I don't know if Miller ever got around to "modernizing" the chart, but the recommended settings barely got me in the ballpark with C25. If the tap/speed combos that work for you are considerably different from the chart, don't sweat it.
3,4,5 in low are my most often used taps. I made myself a chart using info from Miller to equate tap numbers to volts. If you want it, just drop me a PM. The no-load volts are listed in the service books, but not the regular owner's manual. It's handy info if you are used to looking at digital voltage readouts on a CV power source instead of tap settings.
If I can get my hands on a contact tachometer one of these days, I'll try to work out a chart for wire speed setting -to - actual ipm wire speed.
Hey bgaidan, Yeah I think it was tues night I saw it and then wed morning I got woke up way earlier than normal and figured it would be gone already but I called and I guess the other people that called him were at work and couldnt go snag it. I work 2-10 pm at CO airlines as a mech.
Bumpydodge: Mine has the remote 14 connector but it also still has a 4 pin plug next to the gun connection and its a 1991 unit. If you feel like sending me a PM with that info on settings that would be great. I have always just winged it on settings. I had used a mm200 a few times before and those upper settings on high are just bad ass! some serious heat. I am going to have to get a better gun before I do any thick work, somebody had put a small gun on this one.
