I've had my Milwaukee radio for prolly 8-9 years of daily use. Before then I went through atleast 3 regular "boom boxes". Job sites are hard on radios but the Milwaukee is still going strong.

BTW coming from a Milwaukee rep about 5 years ago about the charging feature was that Dewalt had a patent but if you remove the zipper pouch there is a mounting set of screws on the radio that will mount a charger. And the cord had a feed through cord cap to to power the charge with the radio plugged in.

I'm unsure if the newest radios have this feature.

I sent an inquiry to Milwaukee asking about a radio/charger combo now that Ryobi is somehow doing it. I specifically referenced B&D's claim to exclusivity and inferred Ryobi=TTI=Milwaukee.

They literally copied & pasted the Milwaukee Party line about it being tough, durable, etc and not incorporating a charger because it interferes w reception. All on the Milwaukee FAQ page so I won't repeat it here.

The only original part of the response:
"I am unaware of plans to introduce a radio with charger to our product line."

Just an update: I've actually been using the radio virtually everyday lately. Even tho it's in the shop I generally run it cordless 'cause it's just easier to move around. As most online reviews state, I'll generally get about 3-4 hours on a regular M12 battery, more if it's not real loud. The M12 XC battery wound up giving me more like 11 hours run time, albeit not continuous use. I've not used a V28 battery long enough to find its limit yet. I don't own any M18/V18 stuff.

In my metal building reception is excellent IMO, and personally I think sound quality is great, but I'm no audiophile.

I did find that the 12V power port only works when the radio is plugged in to 120VAC, so that's kind of a bummer.

I like the buttons and the backlit display, but the presets seem funky. I should read the manual as I'm not sure I'm using the preset functions properly. A remote would be awesome so I could switch stations when those IN YOUR FACE car dealer commercials come on, but I'd only lose the remote or douse it in cutting oil and slag.

I got mine reconditioned thru CPO for around $89 and have no complaints. Great product if you need a jobsite radio, and the multiple voltage capability is super handy.

I use mine daily. Of all the job site radios I have owned the Milwaukee is by far the best. I just wish it was a charger/radio like everyone else.
