Had a free couple of hours today. So I mounted and plumbed in the fuel switching valve (one switch will change the tank supply/return and the fuel sensor) to the fuel pickup and return. Also plumbed in the vents for the tanks. They will tie into a Jaz overflow?vent mounted between the back of the cab and front of the bed, out of sight.
Hopefully, the truck will be going to Ruth Engineering next week to have the inner front inner fender liners fabricated. |

Today I ran the coolant lines for the air compressor. Tied in at the coolant supply/return at the waterpump using the supply and return for the transmission fluid heat exchanger (post #404 pic #4). This source of coolant does not circulate through the thermostat, so it is constant.

Upgraded the old diaghram pump to a low pressure piston pump. This is basically an upgrade for the future. It will fuel up to 400HP without any problem.

Your truck gives me wood, and I'm not ashamed to say that.

Why? Come Feb. you'll have been working on this thing for 4 years
. While Im no speedy gonzales, there's no way I could go 4 years working on something without being able to use it. Infact you've given me inspiration to finish up the Cummins swap I did on a '94 Dodge Thanks

Between being on the road guiding/scouting for the pheasant, goose, and duck hunters and training a half dozen retrievers everyday, the daylight getting shorter everyday, I'm just a little preoccupied. Oh, and I have an elk tag to fill as well. Hell, half the time I'm on here I'm out scouting/hunting somewhere in the boonies.
This project has never had a 'gotta get it done by' date and was started to give me an escape from training. Last edited by jensenkennels; 11-03-2009 at 06:43 PM. |
