By HD, I'm referring to the over 8500GVWR trucks, F250 HD and F350, the LD F250 got the SF 10.25, and the 302 engine option, and yes I am talking 85-97 stuff...
Other than the pinion legnth, the really isn't much difference in the older axles. The only way you'd be able to tell the axle under my big truck(has the late model long pinion gearset) from a newer one is the lack of a VSS.
