Then once you do that and you fill those 44's completely full of chromoly, not only will you have an expensive axle, but ones that are on the edge of breaking on you're 36in tires. I know you have posted several times that you will not break it because you don't push things. Then why do this in the first place? And finally, the ONLY thing that a 44 does better than a toy is turn sharper, but with you're 1in skinnier axles and 36in tires, you will need to run a 4in spacer to get a decent turning radius. Then the inner C will break. Yea! ![]() Sell them. Maybe you can find a flat biller to buy them. Go to the junk yard and buy a 60 for the rear. Run it stock. You can get one for $250-$300 If you look around for it. Don't even bother with the passenger side drop, it doesn't matter. But with your shop, cutting it down would be easy if you wanted to. Then for the front leave the stock rover axle on there and stuff it with Toy stuff from Keith. This option will run cheaper than the path you're on and be way stronger. And WAY less gay. Or, keep doing what you're doing, post up lots of pics, and we'll flame you relentlessly. One is a win for you, the other is a win for us. Cheers.

The question that has not been asked yet is what's wrong with what's under the truck now?
Why not just convert to 24-spline and wheel it like a Rental car with the damage waiver paid? The early Rangies have plenty of room for tires with minimal if any lift. It already has the 230, yadda, yadda, yadda. Stuff it with 24 spline stuff and break it, THEN make big changes.

I ve got slight wheel arch trimming for 9.00-r16s, But my FFR D90 already has beefier springs than a civvy truck. Coil sprung land rovers only need a slight boost to clear serious rubber. Unless its a Disco or Rangie with sacked springs! But thats more of wear and tear issue.

I fitted rovertym rear links & raised rear shock mounts. I also have a 2" ball joint spacer fitted to the aframe. I originally ordered more rovertym gear but unfortunately I got messed around a bit (irrelevant story), so I ended up with some custom made front radius arms cranked by Dale @ 2DExtreme. Extended brake lines are a must, as well as extended bump stops. The guards needed a lot of clearing and the tyres still rub hard (but I like it like that )I also sourced some double cardon driveshafts (front and rear) from Tom Woods as I had slight vibrations at certain speeds when on the black top. At the moment I am running 10" front bilsteins (a touch too short), and some cheap Boss 14" (almost) travel shocks in the rear (a touch too big). The front flex is aided by the haultech holey bushes. Spring rates are 220lb front (lovells RRR-03) and 186lb rear (dobinson unknowns), I initially thought the 186lb rears would be way too soft but they actually seem to be holding up quiet well. Springs are held in by heavey duty lower retainers and hose clamps to retain the tops, I am a big fan of retained springs. Things to come are a 1" body lift (to get me back some of my lost uptravel), and some 7100 series short body billys (12" front and 14' rear). Maybe some 30mm wheel spacers, and am currently looking for some sticky compound treads.

Most definately, I have run out of bailing wire. Forgot to replace it last time I used it to brace a bent rear link.I have millions of these in my toolkit. Never know when your gonna need zipcuffs and some cawk rings!
