OEM soft top bow- modified

I posted this on MUD as well, figured I'd have better chances. If anyone can help me out, that would be great!

I am looking for the upper door frame (not the actual door), but the frame peice that the door sits against on the OEM soft top bows. The part that attaches to the bow at the door piller, then connects to the windshield frame. I'm looking for the early style like pre 65. My soft top bows are from a 71, and my doors are 65 (the tall style) If anyone has a set that they would like to trade for my set, or has a set they would like to sell, either way. Here's a pic of mine. The way it is now, my doors don't fit right, because the top of the door hits the lip on the brackets. Thanks,

So I ended up cutting the driver side upper door bow to make it fit the upper door frame the way it should. Here's some pics of how the door made contact with the bow and did not close/seal correct, and pics of the new modified peice. It worked so well I can't wait to do the other side.

Thanks for the pics!

I picked up some clean OEM soft doors and second set of bows for my 65ish FST model. Unfortunately, I've only collected one of the "over door" bow pieces and it's in rough condition. They seem to get lost pretty easy.

I'm figuring I will have to fab something when I eventually get around to messing around with the OEM soft top.

Thanks for the detail shots showing how it goes together.

haha! I'm a cheap ass! I have one decent Craftsman grinder, and 4 cheapo's. That way I can have a grinder always ready to go with either a sanding disc, cut off wheel, grinding wheel, wire wheel, etc.

Jim, I have ONE overhead piece too. Don't remember which side it is. Call me to remind me to look for it if you need it.

Jeff, I think you made the right call there. I have NEVER seen one of those bow pieces without that extra section in it, making it MUCH rarer than a stamped bezel!

Yeah, that's what I figured as well. I've been looking and asking everyone for the past year with no luck. I did the other side last night, and it came out great. I'll post pics when I'm all finished up.

I was scared to cut them at first, but after seeing the first one cut and tack welded back together, and seeing the door shut properly I was happy. Plus, the passenger side that I finished last looks factory (even though I don't even know what the factory bow for those doors looked like)!
