Newbies guide to the Con??
Newbies guide to the Con??
Is there one?? Im in Reno and plan on doing a camp trip with the GF up there this year. I know where the Tahoe side enterance is but is there a good map to where all the stuff is and what to do and not to do... Also, will an EB with 37s be able to get to the camping/party area with no/minimal body damage?? I dont wanna beat on the rig to much yet just wanna camp/party/meet some people/watch people wheel until I build my EB buggy. I have rocker protection and will have the doors off. Also have a winch. How about going alone on a weekend?? I mean me the dog and the GF going up alone but camping near others. Thanks! Andy the newb!! PS. I hope for a better response then the subaru guys lol...

Andy, there's several resources that will help you.
You can find most of them listed or linked to on my Rubicon web site: www.delalbright.com/rubicon.htm Camping and traveling the trail alone is never a good idea in my two cents. If you break down, you're relying on a good samaritan from another group to help you out -- which might happen anyway. But you set yourself up for being a possible inconvenience to someone else. It's not the same as having your own group or partner. On the other hand, there'll be plenty of guys out there on the weekends. Most are very helpful if you have problems. But if you need parts, you're in one heck of a spot. On my web site you'll find a great guide book by William C. Teie listed. Great maps and info. Online map at www.Californiajeeper.com Local hotels and camping (and guide service) at: www.rubicon-trail.com good luck, Del

Can an EB make it? NO WAY! Leave that POS at home!
j/k! I have a 72 You should be just fine. Body damage? Yeah, you could get some. Just take your time and you'll keep it to a minimum.Suggestion: If this is your first trip, go with someone that's been there before. It will make you trip more pleasant. Our club is planning a run July 14th - 18th. You're welcome to join us
