Tera Manufacuring

I wanted to put in a good word for Tera Manufacturing. I had one of the original 5 gear 4 to 1 gear sets (actually an upgraded 3 gear set) in my Scout D300 in my Scrambler. On Cadillac Hill about a month ago I broke the weld on the gear that drives the rear in 4 low. Driving up the rest of Cadillac was fun in 4WD high, but we got home.

Since I needed to get on the tral again quickly, I ordered and paid for a new set of gears. The new gears from Tera are much stronger then the verisons they originally put out 6 years ago. I sent the broken gear and the other 4 gears back to Tera with a letter explaining the details. Without further discussion, they quickly refunded me the full cost of the gears and shipping. These gears were 6 years old and they stood behind their product.

Thanks Tera.

Mike

That's probably why their still in business. I've had mine in a Model 18. 3.15:1 TeraLows for 3 or 4 years, and mine see hard abuse on the street. All my power goes through my intermediate gear. Before TeraLow, I could take it out and replace and rebuild it in 4 hours. Haven't had any trouble with their's yet!!!!
Glad to hear they took care of you...

I broke the welded gear and they hooked me up no questions asked. They have always done me right.

OK, so what is done differently now to the gears? Are they still welded instead of the way JB does them? That was why I was leaning towards the JB 4to1.

The gears are still welded together. The big difference is the gears are now splined together, and the welds look much better. Have not broken my new set yet.....

6 years and running with a set in my TJ. Everything else has broke, but they are still running strong. I just added a 2 low this year. No problems to date.
