Off the market as in someone bought it, or off the market as it he decided not to sell. If it's the former, what are the details? Is it still going to be an offroad camp, etc?

More On Crawfords
His comment was as I stated, some threads on various boards about folks trying to get up the $ to buy it have come up....... trying to save people some time. I will post if I learn anything other than the camp will be operational on '05. I respect the man's option to reflect on things and go forward in the future.

"Off the market" to me means he's not selling.

I went and saw Steve at the hospital last night. He told me the same thing as well as his plans for more basic cabins on his place as well as some other new stuff...
He then said "Sounds like I really want to sell it don't it?" Those who know Steve can only imagine the sarcasm in his voice when he said that. I will be seeing him Thursday evening at the hospital as well, just in case anyone wants me to pass along some kind words to him...post them up. His knee operation went well and he is expected to go home Saturday and be off his feet for about 2-3 months. His campground will be opened back up in March or as soon as late February depending on his knee. Jody

I heard that starting the weekend of the 18th, only cabins would be available for rent. Can anybody confirm?

He is doing well and not in too much pain. He does want a beer though. I may have to sneak him one into the hospital this evening...

JJ- these are 2 different situations entirely. You can search under my name in Off Topic for the latest news on the sale of his campground. It is listed, but its not really for sale. Basically if he could get an absorbiant amount of money for it, he'd sell it, but he does not plan to sell it at all.
Here's the thread in question http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=307690

Just got home from the hospital. Steve is doing great and wanted me to thank EVERYONE who is talking/thinking of him.
The reservations for the cabins is still on. The only reason the campground will close this winter is because he is not able to clean the restrooms in his condition. We all know Steve will not allow the camp to be anything less than 100% perfectly clean and sanitary. No worries about Crawford's or Tellico, they are both just gonna be a little slow this winter, but wide ass open this spring. The trail 5 bridge project starts this spring with an approved $169,000 20 ton bridge. 2006 will bring a bridge to Fain's Ford on trail 4. These projects will greatly help the Tellico OHV area fight off any environmental issues facing it. Camping within 100 ft of the streams may soon come to an end. This is due to irresponsible folks not disposing of human waste as they should. Sound familiar? Please folks, lets keep OUR trails and OHV areas open and clean. What good is a $20k rig if the trails are closed? I may have gotten off tangent about trail use, but this DIRECTLY effects Steve Crawford and each one of us who uses them. Steve spoke with Dave (35xj) and I about all of these issues this evening and wanted us to communicate them to ya'll.

Sounds like he's in good spirits, that's great to hear.
Wish I lived closer and could help out with the bridge projects...

Glad Steve is doing better and hope he gets well soon and gets back to the camp sites. Its also cool that Tellico is getting some money spent on it with the new bridges even though those water crossings are fun I can see how other people view it. One thing that definatly needs to be worked on at tellico while we are on the subject is trail marking. The markers are not very good and need to be replaced with more permanent ones. Just an idea.

Steve also talked about Tellico getting a full time ranger. Something that I will be really glad to see!
