newest barn find-bone stock 78

I've actually had my eye on this rig for about 10 years. Worked on it for the PO for about 5 years before she parked it 5 years ago. Original paint dune beige, no rust in the rear, no cuts:

I started negotiating to buy it before SNT, which is why I got on that chrome bumper thread and asked Iron Giant for his old one. Picked the truck up on Saturday.

Like I said, I had my eye on this one for a LONG time. Unfortunately, I realized that I my project list is already way too long, between the v-8 that's been waiting 2 years next month for the HJ45, the 4speed swap for the dd45, the lift and H55 for the fj60, the fj25 that's been in the backyard for 10 years etc, etc. Heck, I haven't managed to change the head on the 60 yet and that's going on 3 months.

So in the end, I had to admit I was never gonna find time to take this one on. I picked the truck up for someone I've never met. Some lucky guy in SLC named Jay is gonna come get this truck tomorrow.

It's already gone and I am a fool. Rebuilt front axle, carb, booster and t-case. The factory floormats were intact, protected under carpet, and the safety straps were still under the driver's seat.

I let it go for 5k!

I hope it doesn't end up on Ebay tomorrow.

Too Bad. I remember how stoked you were on this stocker. Guess you'll have to find something else to hang that bumper on. Keep looking. Depending on your cruiser karma, when you're ready something will pop up.

Berg should post pics of his '76. Bought it in Vegas for $1400 and probably one of the cleanest completely original 40's I have seen unrestored and unmolested. Minus the engine rebuild which is always nice as well

I really screwed up this week and missed buying this .. 1980 it had 85k looked original , no rust theft recovery( broken window)... I bailed at $8300 cause I thought it was going to go much higher( thru the roof) all the pre bids were high... bid closed at $8600
Somebody in SLC got it and It will probably go e-bay

That's a bad ass cruiser. I have had my eye on a couple for many, many years. One day one up and disappeared- somebody else must've finally wore down the owner. The other is a lwb 45, I'm patient.
