Smile Sea Otter anyone?

Hi all,
I was curious if anyone is going to the Sea Otter in a couple weeks?
I’ll be in the over 35 beginner x-country (on Sunday). It is my first race.

I plan on being there but, probably won't race as I have to head back to Redding on Sunday. Last year the traffic was so bad getting in that I pulled off the road and rode my bike in the last couple of miles and didn't even have to pay to get in. I love checking out all the vendors. Come up here and do the Lemurian Mountain Bike race on April 30th. It will be a fun event. It will be at Whiskeytown Lake west of Redding.

good luck you guys!!! I was there some years back and rode for fun, had a blast, got lots of swag, camped for the whole thing and great pics. The venders were awesome!! Even did work on my Trek that I needed and had been putting off.

Well, it is over and I'm alive!
It was pretty fun. I'll change a few things for next year, but it was good.
My fork seized, so it was rigid front and rear. I borrowed a SID from a friend and it had an aid chamber problem. No worries though. I finished in the middle of my pack which was my goal. And I didn't bonk, that was my other goal.
How did you all do?
-Pete

I survived all the vendors on Saturday! Fun day with my girlfriend, daughter, sister and her friend. Great weather all day, no traffic issues. Watched some downhill and dirt jumping. I plan on riding next year.

Fun times this weekend. My bro-in-law took 5th in Shorttrack and 7th in XC Men's Sport 30-34. Got two medals, podium pic, pretty cool. My buddy placed 19th in Pro DH and 20th-ish MountainCross. Hope to ride beginner XC next year. Anyone going to Big Bear this year?

lol I think I was parked right next to you!
I was in a silver pickup. I followed you into the parking area. I saw you guys taking picture next to your rig.
