Wink River Rock opening weekend a success!!!

First, I would like to start off with a disclaimer saying that I am in no way affiliated with River Rock ORV park. I just wheeled there, that's it. So suck it!

That being said some in the southeast may know that this weekend was opening weekend for a new ORV park here in GA called River Rock ORV park. (www.riverrockorv.com) Not only was there an amazing turnout for the event, with hundreds of trucks and probably thousands of people, but the park is amazing in terms of the obstacles located there. I didn't get a chance to see the entire park but I rode probably about 4 or 5 of their most difficult trails/obstacles and I can honestly say that they are up to par. I look forward to wheeling this new park more in the future. Sat. night featured a live cover band, a hug raffle, free t-shirts, food, etc. Very impressive. The owner definately put lots of money into it. They even had a water truck come out and soak the roads to keep down the dust.

The park is brand new. It does suffer from a lack of natural rock formations. Tons of rocks were hauled in to create the park and I'm sure more obstacles are planned for the future. (Some more hill-climbs would be cool, guys ... hint hint ... ) As a result, many of the rocks were still loose. But future rains should help cement them in better.

I loved the park. I do not think of it as competition to places like Grayrock. Instead, I think of it as an additional place to wheel. I plan to support both parks financially and in any other way they could need me for. Private ORVs are the future of our sport, I strongly believe.

Anyway, thanks for the great weekend, River Rock. I'll be seeing you again soon. (Check my web site in a few days for pics.)

Agreed It was fuckin awsome.

The landowners were very welcoming and very nice. I rode 5 hours and didnt see the same trail twice. I will be going back often to that place.

for Jess Williams for setting it all up and to the landowners.

I had a great time, too, my two favorite obsticles were the RAT HOLE, and the TRENCH. Total carnage, was a 1310/1350 conversion joint , a front leaf spring cente pin, front 30 axle shaft, one busted bead, a broke 44 front shaft, and a lot of rock rash. A big thanks to those at river rock as I had a great time as everyone there did.

I had a friggen blast! This place is sick, a damn track hoe to dig holes out on hill sides place rocks ect. The staff did a great job, even bailed me out with a toyota iner axle seal when my birf exploded and took it out. Thanks Lee and tell the fellow that supplied the seal that I owe him a beer or six.
I hope to make it back soon. I will not miss another bash at this place. Best 20 bucks I have spent in years!

Thanks alot guys for all the great remarks! We are so happy that we had such a great turn out and that every one enjoyed it! I'd personally like to thank everyone for behaving so well! We couldnt have asked for better people out there! We have some things to work on as far as organization goes. . but what can you expect . . it is our first run and we expected about 200-400 people. . 50 rigs. . we got about 1700 people who paid. . who knows how many didnt. . and about 200 rigs. . . again thanks for all the support and pictures!! I dont think a single one of us got a picture! We were always so busy that we completely missed out on that one! You can send any pics to me at abi8@bellsouth.net i would appreciate that so much! A special thanks to Mild 2 Wild and 4 wheel parts! thanks for your continued support! love you guys! your the best! check out our web site. . . www.riverrockorv.com for more details about reserving the park on a weekend or future rides! thanks!

We hope everyone had a great time. There were a lot of local people near riverrock that worked hard to make it happen and I would like to say thanks to all that helped the landowner pull this off. The dust was the biggest problem, but, in June it will be hard to stop it completely. Im not sure how many showed up because the waivers were not counted for a total yet when I left yesterday. Im sure there will be more trails and obstacles built in the future. We have even considered doing some kind of comp with a facility in Orangeburg SC. It is nice to have resources to build obstacles and trails and a landowner that can wheel with the best. I hope yall post some pics.

You can go to www.riverrockorv.com for future events and details. There will be another big ride in the fall and it will be even better. The date has not been set yet, so check the website or pm me. It was an awesome turnout and I think the next one will be more organized and we will do some trail work and add some more obstacles etc. Thanks for the support from all that traveled so far to make it a success. It was an awesome site from the top of the field at night seeing all the rigs and people under the lights having a blast. See yall in the Fall and thanks again.

I feel ya weedwacker, we just have to address some issues and get this thing organized better before we take on a once a month ride. If any groups would like to rent it for a weekend go to our website and email a request. I was down there when the xj rolled and you broke your rig. I am glad everyone was ok and an hour later I saw the xj getting it done on some more obstacles so I quess his rig was ok. Man I can't wait to have another ride so people can come experience riverrock. We will be adding more obstacles and trails in the future so build it strong. Thanks

I have a new respect for the old XJ. I flopped it pretty hard and the body held a lot better than I thought. The cage is really tight to the inside of the body and it didn't even touch it. The doors still work, hell the power windows still work. The windshield is toast, and the vent window shattered but I am looking forward to trying it again! Yeah I vote for once a month, you don't need a band or any giveaways, just keep adding the rock. Thanks!

True ... the band and giveaways were nice but I'd rather just wheel more often if that is what it takes.
