Time for kid pics :)

Alright, time to show off those kiddy pics again with one stipulation - you've gotta tell a story about something fun you've done recently with your kids.

Saturday, we took the entire family for a picnic. Went on about an hour drive checking out the fall foliage & then a picnic lunch in the woods. Last night, Veronica & I headed up to deer camp (aka "Grandpa's Forest") to plant some seed on the pond dam. Veronica had a blast spreading seed, checking out deer prints, picking up leaves, and we saw a HUGE heron swoop down over us by the pond She rode on my lap as we drove through the woods on the way back out to the gate

But that's not fair. I don't have any kid pics... not a single one... oh, wait, I found one...

Guess I do have one after all....

Oh, wait... I found another one..

Those were taken last weekend at Lake Wenatchee. Fall colors were out. Bright gold and orange all over the hills. Really nice, but pretty windy...

Oh, look, I found another picture...

I guess that is all of them, no, wait... I'll save that one for another day... after all Halloween is soon to be here, and I am sure we will have a kid's costume pic thread...

For the funny story...

On the way back from the mtns, my middle child fell asleep. We decided to stop by a friends house to check out a patio set he wants to sell. So, we left the 9 year old, 7 year old, and 5 year old in the car parked in the driveway of the friends house while we went in and took a look (don't worry, cool day, cloudy, 65 degrees out, going in for 5 minutes)

Evidently the door closing on the van woke Collin, and he had to pee. He was sitting in the front seat, because he had been feeling a little car seat. So, he grabbed a McDonalds cup and peed into the cup, then dutifully put he lid back on.. no, no one drank the pee, but, evidently he had trouble aiming, being half asleep... When my wife and I got back, he had climbed into the back seat and was playing with his brothers. We got in, and I noticed *water* drops splashed across the dash... Thinking that was strange, I asked who had splashed water on the dash as my wife reached up and wiped the water off with her hand.... you know the rest...

Tommy after losing his first tooth. From the gawd-awful, blood curdling scream he let out, you would have thought he cut off a finger. Turns out it was a scream of joy!

Katie after making a pig of herself with a popsicle.

Speaking of teeth, we lost three this week. Both of Collin's lower incisors came out. I yanked one... but You'd of thought the thing was welded in there. It was loose and floppy, so I tied some floss on it, slammed the door... ping, the floss broke... Hmm, cheap floss. Got out some thread, slammed the door, thread broke... but at least the tooth was bleeding now... tied the thread back on, gave it a tug, no go harder tug, no go.. fine, yanked that sucker... ping, ping, ping, tooth goes ricocheting around the romm... took us 15 minutes to find that sucker...

he lost the second one at Taekwondo two days later. He went to class Saturday morning, but started... *commenting* as he put it that it was loose and bothering him. I told him to go see Master Cho (7th degree Instructor)... minute or so later, one of the other students came to get me because Collin was bleeding in the sink... ... we rinsed his mouth out and packed the tooth gap with paper, then it was back to working out for us.. Master Cho put the tooth in an envelope and gave it to us after class..

Oldest lost a bicuspid on Sunday. Same thing. Tooth was loose and wiggly, but broke the thread 3 times trying to yank it... Finally popped it out too...

Dang teeth cost me $15 over the weekend... tooth fairy is getting pretty good wages these days.

Forgot to get some cash, and only had a ten dollar bill, so I tore the 10 and put half under each pillow. My wife thought that was a dumb idea, so she got into collin's money (he has a baggy he keeps in the medicine closet) and took out $10 in ones..... problem is, he had his one's were folded in half. When he woke up, he checked under his pillow, found the ones, and said *I hope this isn't my money because it is folded the way I folded mine*... Hopped out of bed and went down to count his money... sure enough, he was short... I left for work and let my wife sort it out, since it was her idea... not sure what the final resolution was...

I thought tearing the $10 in half was a good idea, the whole brothers working together, sum is larger than the parts, synergy, etc., ....

My Kathryn at 6months 2 weeks ago.

Three teeth in the last few days. No great dramatic stories but she is learning to crawl and loves the outdoors. So far she has been in the pits and trackside for the entire midwest CORR series, she sleeps during the races for the most part. She also likes assisted rides around the yard and house on our 3 year old 200lb St. Bernard. He loves it too.

Probably a different thread would be an appropriate place to discuss this... that way our cute kid thread can continue to be cute...
