89 f250 w/7.3 need some help fer a swap

all right my neibor gonna by this truck and he is asken me ? I cant answer with out liein to him so Itold him Ill find out.
witch 5spd did ford offer in this erea(yes its a 4x4)
is there a direct 60 sas fer this year(I hope a king pin for crossover perposes)
yes I know about the shackle reversals
and what t/c came with that 5spd(rember its a 7.3 diesel)
I havent seen it yet but he's for it,its a standerd cab lwb.
your expertice will be greatly appreated thanks hillbilly

its a ZF 5 speed, comparable to NV-4500, good trans..
86-mid90 Dana 60 from f-350 will bolt in..late 90-97 will work, but have ball joints..

should have a BW-1356 T-case..

hey thanks for the info.Is the t/c a gear type or chain?how about the low range

it is chain driven. downside is that it has an alum casing. I plan on swapping mine to a twin stick NP 205 next year. I thought the balljoints were on 94+ D60's? perhaps not...
You should talk him into an ATS turbo upgrade. these trucks are a dog with out turbos.
edit I forget the Low range gear ratio... its for some reason 2.71 comes to my mind, but i dont know if thats right or not. better stick around.

2.71:1 was wrong. I just looked it up, it is 2.69:1
