I had to cut off my wedding ring

Doing laundry is fawking dangerous....

I was pulling Eric's jeans out of the washing machine and caught my ring on the lip of the tumbler. I was able to get my hand free, but my finger swelled up and turned colors.

Remembering my swollen finger thread from last year, I used the same tricks...nothing worked. In the mean time my finger got bigger. I was gunna have my day care mom cut it for me, but she started crying. She could'nt do it because it was my "wedding ring".

I carefully cut away...took me an hour and a half. But it is off. I don't know what looks worse, my ring or my finger.

Not that I would get married, but if I did thats just another reason why I'd never wear a ring.

I was helping a buddy move a few years back, we stopped by Arby's for some chow, he caught his ring on the door and it sliced his finger, when we got in the truck I told him just to give it a quick yank and suck up the pain, well, he tried, but that sent a stream of blood onto the seats and him cringing in pain. Well, we got him home and his ole lady took him to the hospital where they cut his ring off. It was just a funny situation when he was trying to pull it off, him yanking on his ring, blood flowing/gushing out and the two of us laughing at him.

I've had problems with my wedding ring too. It cut into my finger and I kept getting crap stuck under it (grease, dirt, etc) and it would get all irritated. I took it off about a year ago and finally the dent in my finger pretty much disappeared.

So last week (on my birfday), I went and had a ring tatooed on my finger. No kiddin... Now I don't have to worry about losing it or catchin it on something and the best part was, it only cost $50. bucks.

About 3 months ago my wife called and said that she got bit at work(vet tech) again but it wasn't too bad so I sent to work. I get a call from her at 1:30am crying and telling me that it's swollen and she can't get her engagement ring off and it hurts. I drive home as fast as I can thinking up ways to cut it off. Do I use nippers, dremel, hack saw, little side nippers.... I was able to cut it off with some dikes and then to the ER for antibiotics.

And here is my finger.....the swelling has gone down, it feels bruised. The ring hurts me more than the finger.

Don't sniffle - pretty easy fix for a good jeweler and shouldn't be too expensive. Your finger's way more important! I have a "nub" so I can say that (I can really only give 1 & 1/2 fingers LOL)

We were not allowed to wear wedding rings when I was a mechanic in the Air Force. No metal jewelry period - dog tags included. They had a big poster of a left hand with a freshly degloved ring finger reminding us why not to wear them - ugly stuff!
