Buick 350 TBI swap question...

Buddy of mine is ready to inject his Buick 350 in his M715. He has found all of his needed parts from a local boneyard for cheap. Basically he will be using a 90 model 350 Chevy truck stock TBI setup. PCM, TB, harness, sensors, etc. His engine is a 1969 model from a LeSabre BTW.

He asked me if the 90's model GM 350 TBI setup could be used with the Buick 350 HEI distributor. He wassn't sure if he would need to combine the guts from a GM TBI distibutor with the housing of the Buick 350 distributor.

I tried the search, but there is not a multitude of info on Buick 350 TBI installs around here.

Thanks.

I am in the same boat so to speak, except I have been on the lookout for a 454 TBI setup. Howell, or the other EFI place might have an answer. Otherwise search the web, and if you find it post back up the answer as I would like to know please.

At the very least you would need to disable the vacuum and centrifugal advance mechanisms. I'm not sure if the Buick motors ever came with electronic spark control, but if he doesn't already have an HEI dist. for it, it might be a little bit cleaner swap if he can find a dist. of an car that had the ESC system.

That is the problem, the Buick 350 never had more than a mechanical and vacuum advance. The distributer is close but not the same as a small block chevy. For instance the shaft is different, at least as far as I know.
