Theiving Bastards

Just got home from the wonderful burg of Birmingham, Alabama from my wife's Grandmother's funeral.

She had been sick for a long time and in a nursing home for the last 8. We were able to be there when she passed and it was a grest experience for my wife (she has never had anyone pass close to her before).

We get everything set up at the funeral home (that she played the organ at for funerals for 25 years) and have the veiwing on Wednesday night.
My mother in law puts her diamond wedding ring (2.5 carat) on her for the open casket. During the veiwing, someone stole the fawking ring.

My wife is devistated. Has no faith in humanity at all right now.

Police came to investigate. He was there for about 10 mins and got called for something more important. Said he would try to take a report later.

That absolutely sucks.

Check the funeral home employees first.

They are supposed to be questioning all of the employees, but the cop on scene got called out for soemthing else within 10 minutes and all we got was a business card and a promise to call. The funeral home has been in business for 65 years and this is the 1st time this has happened (so they say).

All I know is, whoever did it will pay eventually

and I hope he (or she) enjoys their own personal spot in hell as the Devil's ass toy.

what, you trying to be comical or some shit ?

I know quite a few people that work with the dead. For the last 3 hours I was photographing a dead body. When some little bitch fuck gets caught stealing from the dead EVERYBODY in the field finds out about it and fast. That shit is not taken lightly. Its not taken lightly to the point that your statement is offensive as I can not tell if it is sarcasm or not.

The last 2 I know that got caught were stealing phone cards from the dead.

Fucking phone cards
because "no one would notice"
Thats the shit funeral workers steal: The shit no one would notice missing.

Actually, I did have a gun in the car. Never go to that dunghole of a town without it.

We went through everyone in the family. No one we could come up with. We even did the "Just put it back and no charges will be filed" thing and no luck.

That takes a special kind of low life

Really tho, it has no value except in a pawn shop where $20 diamond rings are bought daily. I doubt someone took it because it was sentimental... would any of the kids have gotten it and now be scared to step forward?

That sucks man!

If you figure out who it was let us know and we'll sent some heavy hittin, pipe totin m'fers to pay them a visit.

Ever thought that it may be another family member?

Not to actually "steal it", but to keep it in the family as an heirloom? People do some weird things when they are greaving, and maybe someone though that this was a special momento that they could hang on to instead of letting go?

If someone stole a ring off my dead grandmother, or in law, I can honestly say I think it would bring me joy cutting their head off with a rusty blade. This kind of thing makes me realize just how greedy people are, family or not.

Agreed, I have also seen the petty theft.

That was our first thought. We had the director look after the service was over. he assured us it was not in there. My MIL had to push it onto her hand, so I don't think there is any chacne of it just falling off.
Could it be a family member, maybe? But I don't think so.
I will just rest well in the knowledge that the person will be dealt with, one way or another.

I was the smallest of the pallbearers, @ 6' 265 lbs...

For some reason people are video taping and taking pictures of funerals nowa days. Have you check to see if anyone has anything like that ?
