Dont' want to get my hopes up, but....

I stopped at the local bar and grill today to eat lunch and see the better half (she works there) and a guy I know stopped in, small town, he's my brother's foreman. we got talking about my brothers mint condition 63 impala and how barret jackson was on last weekend, and like any other diehard I.H. guy I brought up my 3 scouts to which his reply was " I know a guy that had about 5 or 6 scouts, kept them in a barn, he passed away but his son has them now" of course I kept my composure and replied" is he going to fix them up" to which he said "no, I think he's wanting to get them out of there". so the way it sits now, he's going to see this guy next weekend and find out for me. his last reply was they've been sitting awhile so I dont think they would run but they would make good parts vehicles. I told him to let me know. imagine if these scouts have been sitting in a barn for years.....I'll keep everyone one updated.can you imagine how pumped I am right now

Cool man.... I just picked up a T-All like that. It had been sitting in this old guys barn since 87 in Tracy California. Good luck.. I feel like I found a million bucks. Could only imagine finding 6

I have heard a story, twice now, that when the IH plant in Fort Wayne closed they auctioned off the property. Some guy bought a building and inside was 30 Scouts. Somehow I doubt it, but one never knows for sure...

This may turn into an IH urban legend thread?

But you know some of these are true. Last year I found six Scouts, five were 1980 diesel and one gas engine all in the same spot they were parked 15 years earlier. Trees had to be cut down to get them out...

If you find a Hurst Scout, I'll give you $1,000 for it.

Farther north, Sagle. These were the last of 30 that were bought for a mine in Montana. Most were never titled as they worked off road.

Mark didn't end up with them.
But yes most have motors, most were missing parts, and another guy in the club ended up with them. He is parting them out. PM me if you need his contact information.

Not really much left there Fleck, mostly core stuff. The guy swore one motor was good. You know Jon? He bought them, I just found them. I'll PM you his e-mail. There was a few t-19 wide and dana 300's but there all gone now! Bodies were hammered! They were used to haul trailers in and around the mine.

Mine come with Pic's also

Since this thread is already all but hijacked I figured I would throw a couple of Pics into the mix of my own. Mine is as straight as I have ever seen a IH. Not one bit of rust nor any dents. This is a true found in a barn, under a cover story. It is not urban legend if you have photographic proof

I give most of what I find to Jon, then he gives me what ever part I need. We've been doing that for years...
