What we're dealin' with here is..........................................

A complete lack of respect for the law............................................

What the hell is wrong with people these days????????????????

Yesterday, I'm pulling court duty. I'm up in the courtroom, I have a couple inmates up there for hearings. Now to set the picture, the courtroom is slightly small. There's two rows of about eight chairs for the crowd to gather, the two tables for the prosecutors and dirtba.........er defense and the judges command center. The whole room is all of about ten by twenty.

My usual program during the hearing is to stand in the corner by the door, but sometimes I'll sit down for a few minutes. I only do this though if the closest chair on the back row is open, and if the next one to it is open. It's the only one I approve of in the whole room and those of tactical awareness will understand this easily. I carry this clipboard with full of paperwork that I have to fill out on each inmate. It's usually just a pain in the ass, but I have no stripes on my sleeves and no brass on my collar, so my ability to get out of this is virtually non-existant. When I sit down, I drop that clipboard in the seat next to me. One could say just because I'm tired of holding it, but I am right handed. I do it as a silent jesture to a late comer "DON'T SIT IN THAT FAWKING CHAIR ASSBAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

We're sitting there and in walks some woman and promptly removes my clipboard, hands it to me, then sits the fawk down. To describe this woman, about the only way I can would be to use something like "more skank per square inch than your run of the mill crackwhore." My first reaction upon receiving my clipboard was to attempt to break the speed of sound while swinging the clipboard at her head. I figured that wouldn't go over good, so I refrained. It wasn't like there was only about ten other fawking empty chairs for the dumb fawking pile of monkey crap to sit in, she had to invade my fawking space.

The next episode was today. Fortunately for my sanity and future in this profession, I wasn't the intended target. I will have to say though just what the fawk has happened to today's youth? If you happen to belong to this generation, here's a tip that might help you out in life, appropriate courtroom threads don't include anything with Fruit of the Loom, Tommy Hilfiger, and/or Adidas on the clothing.

This kid walks into the courtroom. He doesn't even appear to be old enough to have a driver's license, but if he's there, he's a big boy now. To quote the late, great Jerry Clower, "If I'm lying, I'm dying" when I describe his choice of clothes. Plain, white Fruit of the Loom T-shirt. It wasn't even one of heavier cloth, but the one that is made for undershirt wear. Extremely baggy gray sweat pants and slippers. I felt like bodyslamming him through the floor.

We may be laid the fawk back around these parts, but for the Love of God, teach your fawking spawn some respect and if they are worthless piles of crap and you still enable their stupidity, at least spend a few dollars on their wardrobe so they don't show up to court looking like some single wide knockoff of an out of work white rapper...........................

Bubba, I hear ya.....

Several years ago, I went to traffic court for a minor infraction. Amazing how just a little respect towards the Court goes a heckuva long ways.

The bailiff had to tell one young man "REMOVE YOUR HAT!" when he called the court to order. The judge saw this, and let's just say that it didn't go well for the young man.

Bubby sounds like some people need a little edumacation, on the QT so to speak. One of the new hires at the only electrical supply house that is open on saturdays heard that the dress code was casual on saturdays so he showed up in a beer company T shirt. ragged cut offs. and thongs, the head counter guy sent him home after a long talking to as only an old drill sargent can give. That same guy is now one of the top sales people for that company, so I guess there is some hope for some of them.

Cliff notes: Some lady sat too close to BRB and some kid wore an undershirt to court. BRB feels that they did not respect his authoritay. As usual, he called them monkey crap.

I hate going to the courthouse to pay traffic tickets not because of my beloved county depriving me of my hardly earned money, but because I have to wade through the dredges of society while there. For the longest time I despised wal-mart because when I went there I couldnt help but laugh at and cry for people at the same time. The county courthouse is (wal-mart)^3.

My personal favorite is the mexican woman bitching at the desk jockie judge's assistant person about how her no engles husband was mistreated by the white police and there is no such thing as justice.

In summary, I feel for you Bubba.

"more skank per square inch than your run of the mill crackwhore."

"some single wide knockoff of an out of work white rapper."

Man, those are perfect.

Mind if I use them every now and then?

Gotta agree both issues show lack of respect to other people.

But.....If trivial issues like this set you off like this maybe there's something else going on. I've read a lot of your posts in the past and most have a bit of funnay and a bit of stupidity by the perps. But this is a little absurd.

Someone sat next to you and you want to hit them with your clipboard. I understand the tactical reasoning, makes perfect sense. But loosing your cool over something like that?

Blowing up over someone elses clothing???? Come on. He shows no respect for the law??? Well, it's obvious isn't it. Swagger, clothes, the fact that he's there for a hearing in the first place? Of course he has no respect for the lawor the system.

But you need to take a look at yourself. Why is someone else's lack of respect causing so much anger for you?

I get the same way sometimes and it's usually something else going on in my life. Work pressure, financial, etc..... Usually all it takes for me is some vacation time, blowing off everything on the weekends to play with the kids or hanging out with friends.

On the lighter side though, it's a great place to learn about different cultures

Yesterday afternoon, I had three Guatamalans up there. We usually have them locked up for the same charges across the board. Usually it involves an alcohol related offense and most of them have some sort of identity theft charge also. A lot of them, they usually have one question of the court and that is will they get deported. A lot of them don't want that. Yesterday, we had a slight break in the proceedings. The one that had just had a hearing said a few things that kind of peaked our interest so during the break, the judge started talking to him through the translator about his trek up here. Another Guat that I had with me was a little more talkative about his trip. The conversation centered around going through Mexico because it's known fact that Mexicans don't like Guats. When these two guys spoke of Mexico, you could smell the fear from them. To these guys, Mexico is like forbidden territory. One said it took him 17 days by bus to get through Mexico and at every stop, the policia was waiting for them and would either extort money from them or take them back to Guatamala.

I look at it like this....

people tend to respect those that offer respect in return.

You wonder why people don't respect "the law"? Well.. in my experience, 9 times out of 10 when you have to interact with an officer beyond a simple head nod, hello, or "can we please place this training package (aka plastique) on your vehicle so our dog can find it" the officer doesn't respect you - they'd just assume shit on you than walk by and leave you alone. I'm not saying all or even most officers are bad... I'm just saying the few that are, are by far the most visible and cause citizens the most greif.

There is a word that I am currently thinking of. From the nature of your post, I would say that this word and it's definition is quite foreign to your brain. I would guess that by now you are still having trouble thinking what this word is. In fact, this word would be a description of the tone of my story as told by me. If you are unable to guess what this word is, feel free to post up and I'm sure the PBB will let you know what it is.

Thank you and have a nice day

She didn't take his chair. She took the chair he had reserved for his clipboard.

It isn't trivial from his point of view. Common sense should tell you not to sit next to him. His reason for sitting there, taking up 2 seats in a half-empty courtroom, is good.

Wanting to hit someone with a clipboard and actually doing it are 2 very different things. Thoughts aren't crimes (at least outside of CA ).

I think he was expressing disgust. I don't recall reading where he said anything directly to the kid.

Are you suggesting it shouldn't? Why the indifference? Don't you care?

So you feel that a person should dress like a five dollar whore when appearing in front of a judge or a job interview just because we have that freedom? That's nice. From my impression of your statement, you are totally fawking clueless about that freedom. The court is hallowed ground. The mere presence of the courtroom demands respect. It is because way back when, a group of people got together, decided they didn't like things they were back in the old country and came up with a system that is supposed to be fair to everyone. It is a place where you get to see the United States Constitution being exercised on a daily basis. I see guys who take time off of work go into court wearing their work clothes, blue jeans, shirt that may have some dirt or what not on it and they look 100 times better than this kid did. It's all about respect.

It's not a balls on call everytime, but if you dress like an assbag, you probably are an assbag and deserve to be treated as such.

Hey man... I understand about what you're saying about dressing for court. But at the same time... if I labelled all uniform wearing police officers that abuse their powers (aka one bad officer = all bad officers) like you just labelled that kid...
