Jantz4x4 - Carl is a good guy

As some of you may know, I blew out the ring and pinion in the hind end of the Volvo; my daily driver that has been to more Rockcrawls than a Shannon Campbell Buggy*.

I ordered a new ring and pinion from Northridge4x4, thanks to David for double checking my research and finding a supplier. For future reference, the center section is a standard rotation Dana 30 semi-float axle. Not a typo. D30 semi-float rear.

Anyway, back to Carl. I showed up at the Jantz4x4 shop with a disassembled axle, a bucket of parts and a puzzled look on my face. First thing Carl said was "What the hell is this out of?" I told him, and after the laughter died down, he said No problem. I had it back in 2 business days, with fresh gear paint showing a perfect mesh on the ring.

I worked in the cold, the dark, the rain and the wind, and drove it into work today. The funny noise in the back is gone! But now I can hear all the other funny noises it makes.

Thanks David! Thanks Carl!

The D30 in the rear of a Volvo is why a guy I know put a Ford 5.0/T5 from a 'stang GT in one. It's the definition of "sleeper".

I think the exact same light bulb just went off in my head. I have a firend with a Volvo he's looking to get rid of and I have been wanting to do a 5.0 project.....hmmmmmm......now all I need is money and time.

I remember when I first moved over to Bremerton.

My wife drove my YJ on 36's to work one day, a jeep that had obviously had trail time. When she came back out to it, she found a flier sitting on the drivers seat.

Carl Jantz (I assume) dropped it off. Always wondered.... compliment or put down.
