OK. Just to make doc happy....
I had stopped trying in the past, because either my humor did not go over, or my posts are simply universally ignored.
But just help the board, and yes doc is right, there are several of us on here that just take and never give…. A picture from my real life yesterday afternoon. I was very busily (at work) waiting for my relief to show, while watching the Ebay auction I was winning, end. It was after normal work hours for the office staff, but this is a 24 hour facility. In burst the janitor, “There is a fire, come quick.” Oh great, what is this about. As we pass the fire extinguisher in the hall she asks me if I know how to use it. Of course I do so I grab it as I go by (5# Dry Chemical) We go out the front door, and sure enough the Juniper bushes in front are on fire. I instantly know that the fire extinguisher I have is not going to be enough, but I pull the pin and fire away anyway. I was amazed at how much fire it knocked down, but sure as shit, right at my feet, also the origin spot of the fire, all the under growth is still burning, and LOTS of red and white hot ash. This thing is going to recover fast. I go back inside to the receptionist’s desk and call downstairs to have someone call fire and dispatch someone to the gate to let them in. I return to my office to grab my portable phone (I has technically abandoned my desk when I left without it earlier ) and called two other offices to alert them that we had a fire, and I did not know if the fire department would make us abandon the building or not when they got here. Two minutes have now elapsed since I first heard about the fire. I went back out front to check on the fires progress, and it had. Much bigger than I had first seen and not slowing down. Oh shit, back to the office, my auction is over. FUCK! Outbid in the last minute. A few minutes later my relief shows up, we talk about what is going on with the system, and the fire. I leave, going out the front door of course, right where the fire is. We have three trucks here now. One has a line out and charged, but no one is spraying water. The three stooges are on the second truck trying to get hose off the rack. I swear it looked like they had never gotten a hose of the truck before. They get the line off and hooked to the pumper. Another firefighter finally mans the hose that has been lying there and starts to douse the flames. Takes about a minute to kill most of the flames. The eves of the building have some very minor flames coming from them. The fireman starts breaking out the window on the corner office and spraying into the eves and the suspended ceiling inside. All is under control now, so I decide to head on home. Come in to work today, get an “Official” E-mail about the fire, It thanks everyone who was here for doing what they were supposed to and getting it under control. The whole thing had been caught on security camera. Apparently it was 45 seconds from first smoke until the janitor had me out front. 11 minutes from then, the fire department was there. They also mentioned in the E-mail that it was started when a match was tossed in the juniper busses, so they have the person who started it on video. Now we are all trying to guess where the opening will be next week. Well,it's my Friday bitches Off to consume some beers and play at a Blues Jam. I'll check back around midnight to see if anyone cares.

How is this any different than what eBay already does? You put in your max bid and if someone out bids you, you lose, if someone under bids you, but higher than the current price, the price rises to that. It keeps going till they give up or you lose or go higher for you MAX bid

Two weekends ago the rural FD made a practice run on my neighbors garage.
Last weekend we watched them in action with a real house fire. Exactly three days after and before, the practice and real fires, we sold our car on ebay. Now the guy wants more time to come up with the money. What the hell is it with fires and ebay?

BMW K100RS And yes, I know about Ebay's proxie bidding. I had already put in what I was willing to pay considering it would also cost me a $200 plane ticket to KC to pick up and a new tire before the ride home. I just wanted to see what kind of advice i would get on bidding on Ebay. P.S. I feel so loved, someone actually replyed to a thread I started (sniff) P.P.S. FUCK YOU.
