Cool parts from BTF
So I needed something to save my H1 wheels from the rocks without killing my wallet. A lot of the premade rock rings I've seen for sale are ugly as sin or way too expensive.
So I drew up what I wanted and emailed it to Dan at BlueTorch with the basic dimensions. He said no problem, $40 each. That's a custom laser cut 1/4" steel ring for almost half the price of the available premade rings from the other guys So this is the drawing I sent. And this is 1 of the rings I received, tacked in place. All welded up, bolted in and painted. Everything was perfect. Whoever does the computer/laser work does an excellent job. They work and look great on the trail. Lots of comments on them. Thanks Dan and crew.

Are you selling those Dan, or could you make another set (with the designers permission) for me?

Dan, do you own a laser cutter, or are you contracting that work out?

I've noticed that most local manufacturing shops that own laser or high definition plasma tables are only interested in high dollar orders. Only the little guys will take care of you on a job like that and not rape you on them. Good to know they took care of you. I'll keep that in mind in the future.

I think we have a couple sets laying around that we made about a year ago. They are a different design. Call Matt at the shop. He will know if we still have them. -Dan

You need to notch the rings for drainage. My FF hubs leaked oil down between the wheel and ring, not easy to clean up.
