Is TDR the PBB of the Diesel World ?

As I'm searching for info on my converstion http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=477288 I keep getting routed to TDRhttp://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/

This site seems to have alot of good info, but is EXTREMELY limited to what non paying memebers can look at. For instance any thread older than 5 days is locked and cannot be viewed. I'm willing to pay the 35.00 bucks, just want to make sure that TDR is the PBB that I'm looking for. Any other good diesel sites that offer conversion info ?

www.autoworldmt.com is a shop that does conversions to the GM's. May be able to buy thier parts, and get good info. They had take out motors as well if your looking for a late model motor.

I put a 93 Cummins Nv4500/60/70/205 in 59 Apache suburban three year ago and got a lot of great info there. You do get their mag subsciption for your $35 and I think its well worth it. have you checked out www.autoworldmt.com yet they have motor mounts that work great and can make you A/C brackets that will use your GM compressor. there are a few other diesel sites but TDR seems like the most traveled.

Apples and oranges, RJ. TDR has great content, but very little attitude. PBB... well.

Rergardless, IMHO TDR is well worth the subscription...

I would of used a 90 cummins grid timer(spend a day getting the ECM wired right). I've put bigger injectors, tighter Gov spring. HX35/40 turned up the pump quite a bit. It will smoke both tires in second and let you know it when you hit third.

www.dodge-diesel.org is a pretty good site, but in the past 6 months they seems to have become a lot more "JUish". I've even had to bring a little "PBB attitude" over there, because of the dumb fawks. I flamed one dumbass and one of the mods got a little butt-hurt and PMed me some stuff, but then he agreed with me

DTR has always been where I go to get info, and it's FREE.

Everything that is available on TDR is available elsewhere, you just have to do some searching. IMO TDR is definately not worth the money. I had a friend that paid for it, I wasn't impressed.
Besides DTR mentiones about, also try www.CumminsForum.com they have a Cummins Conversion section.

DTR... fairly decent for free... just alot of newb junk to filter through when trying to research info. Oh wait... it is like PBB then.

I'm thinking about signing up for TDR though... need some ideas for the new rig.

I've been on DTR since I bought my tow rig. Very good info and since I AM a newbie to diesel stuff, they have been very nice with my dumb ass questions. I've also noticed quite a few PBB guys on there.

I've never paid for TDR but hear good things about it. Honestly, DTR has everything I've asked for on it.

I paid for my subscription to TDR for one year, and it just wasn't worth it for me. The magazine isn't all that great, IMHO, and the website has info that can be found in other places for free, so I stopped paying.. i can still log into the website however, and get all the info that I would like, but I never go over there. Im ALWAYS on Dieseltruckresource for all my info, and Im the so cal chapter president for them as well.. great guys, and lots of good info to be had there. Thats where I'd be if I were you.
