BFGoodrich® Tires Honors Moab’s Hell’s Revenge Trail

BFGoodrich® Tires Honors Moab’s Hell’s Revenge Trail

– Red Rock 4-Wheelers Receive Grant for Trail Clean Up and Conservation Efforts –

MOAB, Utah – June 5, 2006 – Named as part of 2006 Outstanding Trails, BFGoodrich® Tires today celebrated the Hell’s Revenge trail at a ceremony in Moab, Utah. As part of the festivities, BFGoodrich Tires presented a grant to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers club, which will be used to aid in the conservation efforts for one of Moab’s most famous off-road trails.

BFGoodrich Tires, working in conjunction with Tread Lightly!® and United Four Wheel Drive Associations (UFWDA), specifically chose the Hell’s Revenge trail as one of its outstanding trails for offering some of the most rugged and scenic country available for off-roaders. The unique “slick rock” and sandstone terrain of Hell’s Revenge provides visitors with excellent traction through otherwise impossible territories of breathtaking views through the La Sal Mountains to the Colorado River canyon.

"The Hell's Revenge trail is classic Moab off-roading; endless slick rock, panoramic views and challenging four wheeling,” said Jeramey McElhaney, president of Red Rock 4-Wheelers, Inc. “BFGoodrich Tires is making the premier choice for its Outstanding Trails program and an even more outstanding contribution to preserving and protecting our trails."

The Red Rock 4-Wheelers club is known throughout the off-road community for its constant mission of bringing together adventure lovers who share the common interest of active and responsible four wheeling. The group manages several annual events in Moab, including the Easter Jeep Safari, which has grown throughout the years to be the biggest trail-ride event in the United States, consisting of nine-straight days of off-roading. Before and after each of these events, the group continuously cleans and marks each of the trails in an effort to keep public lands and roads available for safe, multipurpose use.

“The popularity of Moab and the Hell’s Revenge trail has grown significantly in the past few years,” said Kaz Holley, brand director for BFGoodrich Tires. “Maintaining this trail is vitally important for the off-roaders in Moab, and therefore, a top priority for the BFGoodrich Tires brand as well.”

After a careful selection process, five of North America’s “outstanding” off-road trails were nominated for uniqueness, terrain type and enthusiast following. The four other Outstanding Trials aside from Hell's Revenge are: Black Bear Pass, near Ouray, Colorado, a picturesque trail nestled in the San Juan Mountains; Pyeatt Draw, a scenic and exciting trail situated in Payson, Arizona; Historic Naches Pass, also known as the Longmire Wagon Train, takes off road drivers over the Cascade Mountains in Naches, Washington; Last, but not least, Upper Tellico OHV Area, Trail #4, located in the Natahala National Forest, in North Carolina where Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia meet.
