Teaser pics for my new project.(SWB FJ45!!!)

Ok this is not the official build thread of my newest project, just a few teaser pics of what I got and what's planed.
Not long ago (couple months) I pretty much finished up my 77 FJ40 ultimate trail rig project, many of you followed along on that build. Well with that one being in the books and my official wheeler done, now I needed something new to keep my mind and hands busy. I tossed around a few Ideas FJ45 restos, FZJ80 diesel conversion, ect, ect. About a month ago I got a phone call from Jeff (dog walker) saying he had bought a 67 LWB 45 and the guy had a 63 SWB 45 for sale as well. I asked him to send me some pics to see if it was something I was interested in. I got the pics and I knew what my next project was going to be I just picked it up yesterday.

This thing is pretty much rust free, which was one thing I was looking for. Not to mention it runs and drives perfect

Now some neat stuff Well I like it.

This 63 has a few parts that Toyota must have had leftover from the FJ25 era. Very cool.
Centered rear diff

I promis I will be doing a build thread soon. I need to round up a few parts and get the flat bed off and the SB on. Also July and August are by far my busy months so it may be a bit before you see any major changes, but its pretty much on for this rig
loose plans.
stock clean body
disc brakes
power steering
not sure on the motor yet, you guys can help me decide when I get the build thread rolling. I do want to stay pretty much Toyota but I hate carbarators! So maby 1FZ? I dont know, we will have to see.

Very nice. Very, very nice!!! So much nicer than the pile of parts I got to start my '64. If you need parts, I have loads, but it looks like you don't need much.

Wish I would have been able to come down a day earlyer. I was on my way home from a fire in Utah.

Few lame things to mention.
Someone tried to cut the roof off the good part is they actually did a pretty clean job and I will be able to fix that no problem with a little time, my welder and a touch of filler not that big a deal really just somthing added to the list.

Most of it is there. I do need to get some rubber pieces for the doors and such from reproduction place.
Things I can think of.
Heater
blinker for the colum
blinker lights for the dash
Ash tray.

dude, get a 2UZ-FE and build it as a sweet little DD and can still tow a bit if ya wanted it too. thatd be a sic all yota build. maybe throw in an ARB in the front/rear and can wheel it from time to time too, but make sure you keep it retro looking!!

keep us updated

Did ya' realize ya' are missing the vertical supports over the fenderwells?
If ya' decide to have some made I am in need of 4 of them myself.....

Hold on, Iggy has no supports over her fenders, so maybe some did not.....

I think you are right on the some had them some did not. THis one shows no sign of ever having them. Should be an easy part to make though

That thing is just unreal! I watched the build on that and was in love from day one.
There is a guy in my home town of Grand Junction that has a 3.4 Tacoma motor in his 45 thats also an option it fits very nicly. I would love to keep it Toyota but I am not making any promises

That truck looks like it's gonna be FUN!

Like I commented on Jeff's thread, I think it's a good idea to settle on a planned use for the truck first, and build it to fit that niche. Somehow, all my rigs end up evolving into expedition rigs..........except the swb! Don't really need 4 expedition rigs. Just proof of where lack of planning will take you.

Oh yeah, a friendly reminder. There are other options out there besides a "reproduction place." At least one of them is even a Pirate yellow-star vendor.
