What a weird weekend, or the kids that somehow find themselves in my house
Friday night, Shopgrrl and I are driving into the driveway and there are cars all the way to the street-our driveway is about 150' long. Get inside and the house is full of kids and the beer fairy had isited and the fridge was full of good beer. One of those evenings it was good I didn't freak out over the house full of kids
Then we come home Sunday evening to find the kid's band is here, along with this freaky chickie. It was about 80' here and she is dressed in three shirts, long blue jeans (surely some expensive brand, you can't get that faded look without spending big bucks) and a knit Timberland cap. Being the parents Shopgrrl and I are, we start talking to this woman (interrogating, if you will). Her story got so convoluted and confusing, even I who cna usually follow the poorly punctuated stuff here was beginning to become confused. She claimed to be homeless and unemployed. Claimed to have had a home, car, etc but "Lost" them. She told one of the kids she was here on her way to a 311 concert in Indy (was there a 311 concvert in Indy yesterday?), then she claimed to have been here a month, then had lived here for years. As she'd claimed she was unemployed and homeless, I ran in the house and grabbed the newspaper with the sunday job ads... She told me she didn't need a job as she relied upon people who gave her a place to stay and food to eat!? She didn't bat an eye when I said that sounded suspiciously as though she was a whore. When people are not forthcoming about their past, I become very suspicious as they are clearly hiding something from me and if you have something to hide, you have no business in my house! About 2300 hours, we gave one of the band members $5.00 and told him to take here wherever she wanted to go and if she had nowhere to go, take her to the rescue mission (I wanted to call the cops as I was beginning to think she'd either runaway from home, a foster home, some sort of incarceration or a mental hospital). So, Tom tkaes off with her and she says she wants him to take her to a specific street corner right down the street. As they leave the driveway, she gives him another destination... Halfway there, she wants to go to the first place-he tells her he's not gonna get halfway to everywhere she wants to go and then go back the other way! We are still trying to figure out what this woman's deal was. Was she on drugs? Was she off drugs? Was she on the lam? Boy did all of the kids here last night get lectured about not bringing people they don't know real well to my house! I'm still hoping there's nothing missing from the wife's purse! Weird shit for sure! PT
