RROCK August Scores

About 3 inches of rain Friday night caused all new challenges
to the teams at Hannibal Rocks. The rocks still had a lot of traction but the mud that the teams got on their tires pulling up to the obstacles caused a day that was full of RPM's.
The Super Modified event ended with a tie between Team Renrag Racing(Mike Garner) and Team Rock Rod Racing (Ken Blume).
Both finished the event with a score of 115. This led to a "ROCKOFF" between the 2 teams. The course set for the tie breaker was a large boulder steep climb followed by a long decent on the back of a cliff.
Unbelievably both teams finished the course with a score of 14!
The final result gave Team Renrag Racing a win for the day because of seconds difference in the time it took each team to run the obstacle. What a great show!!!

Thanks again to our dedicated hard working group of staff and judges. Kudos to Chris Rayborn for another great event!
Lots of breakage on Sunday caused the crew to adapt to adverse conditions and they pulled it off almost flawlessly.
At one time there were at least 5 rigs in the staging area working on their stuff to get back in the competition.

The above mentioned teams were very impressive to watch. Both drivers were cool, calm, and collected. And to top it off - they are both 12 years old.

The 3rd round of RROC was an awesome event to watch - Can't wait for #4.

A funny story about Jaclyn- I asked her if she was nervous about the bonus climb (the loose dirt one)- she glared at her dad who was standing right there and said "he won't let me do it" - I can tell this girl has a competitive spirit

Well, they must have had more conversations cause next thing you know she was shooting that hill and If I remeber right she stabbed it on the first shot. THAT, was impressive

Same with us and our fuel problem. We would have been at the top if we could have finished our last course.

It was a tough day for all the competitors. I think 5 rigs were all broken at the same time yesterday.

( This will be done to discourage any team from intentionally attempting to better their place in the running order. ) If you are unable to repair your vehicle before every vehicle in your class has completed the course you have been called for, you will receive an additional 55 points for that course.

If you are able to repair your vehicle before all the vehicles in your class have run the course you have been called to, you must report to that course and you will be placed next in the running order for that course. You will remain in that position for the remainder of the event.

If your vehicle is not ready to run when you are called for your next course due to breakage, you are responsible to check in with the head judge on that course and inform them that you are unable to report for your allotted time. At this time you will be placed on "breakdown time", ( you will be give 30mins total 'breakdown time" per day. The time will be reduced from 45mins to 30mins to keep the flow of the event moving.) While on "breakdown" any one may assist with repairs. If you are able to repair your vehicle within the 30 mins of "breakdown time", you must report to the course you where called to and you will be placed next in the running order and will remain there for the remainder of the comp.

If you are unable to repair your vehicle and all the vehicles in your class have completed the course you where called for you will receive 55 points for that course, and will be taken off "breakdown time" at that time and you will retain the remainder of your "breakdown time". It will be your teams responsibility to report to the head judge of that course to take you off breakdown time.

If you have used all of your "breakdown time" for the day and you are broke and are unable to report to a course that you have been called you will automatically receive 55 points for that course.

Tell me what you think.

Ugh, my first breakage truly hurt, and so did missing 3rd place by 8 points. But, I was able to complete my 5th course in 3 wheel drive with only 16 points. We've got some modifications planned for my little Jeep and I truly cannot wait for the October competition. I think that I'm completely addicted now!!!!!
