Red face Warn 9000i Brake Problems

Hey guys I let my girlfriend's Dad borrow my jeep to pull out some Juniper bushes out of his front yard. Well guess what... when I got my jeep back the winch wasn't holding anymore. So I decided to rip it off and tear into it. Right before I took off the spool I looked inside and saw these parts loose just clankin around in the spool.

Now these black pieces are a little scuffed up from rolling around in the spool. Is that ok or should I be worried about it??

Now how is this piece supossed to be attached??? I think that the reason I am having all these problems is that it fell off.

Well I believe that the brake should look like this...

Ok guys thanks for the help. I just want to know if i need to buy a new brake or if i can put it back in and be fine with it.

Thanks,
Brannon

Well the piece that fell off was held on by a factory ridge that wore down over time and when he yanked the Jeep back with the cable attached it popped it off. So I tore apart the whole winch, cept the motor and cleaned off all the parts and then put new grease on. I used some fully synthetic grease because I thought that would be the best bet. I bought the brake assembly from warn and it came with the brake assembly and a new hex shaft. I also bought some new gaskets from warn that were only 79cents a piece and threw it all together. Was pretty simple took about 2-3 hours if I knew what I was doing it probly would only take an hour maybe an hour and half.
The only two things I am going to do different next time is, first use the manufactures grease and second is not use so much of it. One guy I talked to said pack the whole thing with grease so theres no air. The other guy said use the grease sparringly because it needs space when it heats and cools. So I decided to go in the middle and wish I would have used it more sparringly because the free-spool is now a bit stifer. Well thanks to all who helped I just wanted to give you guys an update.
