Region 2 Mud Drags Oct 14 2006
This is going to be a lot of fun, It is going to be held at straddleline ORV park. There is no chance the environmentalist will be able to shut us down.
Too many cancelled events this year. IT'S TIME TO HAVE SOME FUN. Straddleline is the old Thurston county Orv park. You can Go to pnw4wda.org to get a flier with all the info. It will be either on the front page or in the forum section under events( I will try to figure out how to put the flier here also. This is going to be a Mud Drag not Bog. the classes will be 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl small block, 8 Cly big block, unlimited 38" tire and under and unlimited 39" and up. there will be trophy's and a get together POT LUCK after the event. there will also be a pancake breakfast with donations excepted the morning after on Sunday. The pancake fund raiser is for a Local Wrestling Team. Camping and showers are Available. They also have fire pits and picnic tables. there are GRAND STANDS and the drags will be in front of them a portion of the grand stand is covered. the grand stands are concrete so bring your lawn chairs. the parking lot is near and also gravel. QUADS and motorcycles are Welcome at the park and there are many trails for them. I wanted to have quad drags but the insurance was to high. Although I am used to organizing Mud Bogs, I have learned how to have drags and promise a great event with lots of fun for all to enjoy. THERE WILL ALSO BE DRAG LIGHTS. And a concession stand open for breakfast and lunch You can contact Steve Russell for more information by calling 253 537 3755 or cell # 253 444 7837 or email at mud4funtoy@yahoo.com I look forward to seeing all of you there . we will have a great time I promise Sincerely Steve Russell |

Here's some video from the one I put on August 5th. Unfortunately, not enough room for side by side, but some good solo passes - #13 is one of the better ones

That one was in Linn, Missouri at a local fairgrounds. We've also done some in a couple other spots in MO, IL, & IN, though this was the first one since 2003.

Hired a local club to do the last one. They had just spent a ton of $$ on upgrading their timing system. Something with the old & new parts didn't jive, and we ended up having to run single lane after advertising side by side. Gave 2/3 of the spectators their money back & lost 7 grand on the night

Sometimes its real hard. I had a event closed on me that was on private land because our government thought it might have wet lands on it. Guilty until proven innocent. Lost a bit of cash on that project, after that i decided no more private land. |

Here are the directions for Straddleline ORV Park (aka Thurston Co ORV Park)...
Driving Directions: The park is West of Olympia, WA. on Highway 8 near McCleary. From Olympia, take exit 104 off I-5 and travel west 16 miles towards the ocean beaches. The park will be on the Left/South side of Highway 8. From Mcleary, continue East for approximately 3 miles on Highway 8, the park will be on the Right/South side of the Highway. |

There will be an Exspresso stand there about 6 am till we are closed and the Concession stand is really reasonable. I checked the prices today and they were like $1.50 for a basket of fries and $ 2.50 - $ 4.00 for hamburgers and they got chili and corn dogs and lots of other good stuff.
They even got sos and pancakes and that kind of stuff too |
