This morning a Papa John's pizza tractor trailer decided to catch on fire on I-35. Seriously screwed up traffic on both the highway and access rd along the highway. I was rolling in the right hand lane on the access road, waiting in traffic for an upcoming light. The left lane was relatively empty since it was a left turn only lane up ahead. Of course all of the "I'm special" people started jumping into the left lane and running up to the light, where they would suddenly put on their right blinker and try to merge back in so they could go straight. Because of this (and idiots who actually let them in

) there were light cycles where we actually didn't move whatsoever. What made the wait worthwhile were when the guy in front of my and myself absolutely refused to let 2 vehicles in that tried very hard to merge at the last minute

People, why is it so fucking hard to wait along with everyone else?

I lived in SoCal for a few years and commuted on the 405, 91 parking lot everyday. People did that ALL THE FREAKIN time...No accidents or trucks on fire...they're all buttholes.

The other night I was on the highway going into my city for duty.

People would merge at the last minute in a one lane construction zone.

I took up the lane and turned on my overheads, nobody tried to sneak around, I got a thumbs up from a trucker.

I always kick myself for not having rocks or golfballs in the car at times like that. Sometimes the shoulder riders will be doing 50 easy, it would be very easy to wreck at that speed with two tires on dirt and the others on pavement for most drivers.

Something needs to be done about these people. Maybe carrying containers of rotten food/milk to toss at them or something?

I really couldn't believe that Round Rock police didn't send someone down to the intersection to direct traffic. The intersection is screwed up with construction (it's right at Roxy's damned IKEA!!!) and the light cycle is bad on a normal day

We get the same dickeads down here in Oak Hill. Westboune 290/71 goes from 3 lanes at Mopac, to 2 lanes, to 1 lane, to a STOPLIGHT in less than a mile (gotta love those crack-smoking TxDOT engineers). Where the 2 lanes merge into 1 at the last overpass, it's always an entertaining show.

I learned a long time ago to just exit westbound 290 under MoPac, then take the frontage road all the way up to Red's indoor range (which I visit about once a week). I go through 2 traffic lights, and STILL beat the traffic on the "freeway".

A co-worker of mine was driving our work truck and as we approached a construction zone where it narrowed down to 1 lane from 2 a guy in a silver mustang decided he wanted to try and go ripping ahead of about 15 people then cut back in line ahead of us. Fawker was going about 50 when he realized he wasn't going to make it ahead of us.. slammed on the brakes a bit too late and took out the merge sign

I usually try to run those idiots off the road when they do that dumb shit. They can wait in line like everyone else, or they can call a wrecker to get them out of the drainage ditch. I don't care either way.

My favorite is an exit of 35E for Field Street over in west end dallas. The access road is 3 lanes and the exit ramp merges into those lanes. There's a stoplight less than 20 feet from where the lanes merge.

They have a stop sign for all 3 lanes of the access road. Not a yeild. Not a slow down and then go. A fucking STOP. I can't say how many times I've almost been hit by people blowing through that stop sign and damn near clipping my passenger side.

Another fun part of that intersection is since it's three lanes, the left lane is left-turn only. Middle lane is go-straight, left-turn, or right-turn. Right lane is right-turn only. I see at least one dumbass a day nearly get hit from being in the wrong lane and trying to go straight.

I had one punk try to run a turn lane and cut me off. Seems he thought my Grandpa looking burb was no match for his Honda Civic.......No replacement for Displacement. It may weigh 6k but that 454 makes 385lbft of torque at 1600 RPM Onnly about 4 times what that 1.6 in his little car does.

He ran out of road and damn near ate a bridge railing. Funny thing is the guy behind me had the same mind set and stayed on my ass and wouldn't let the guy over either. He had to come to a full stop and wait as traffic freight trained him on the shoulder.

on the otherhand I am usally a nice guy when someone politely uses their turn signal and needs to get over for an exit. there is a major differenc between the holier-than-thou narcissistic ego fucks thinking that civility and courtesy doesn't apply to them.

here we have the guys who do the end of off ramp thing or they won't stick their nose in the damn road must stop and give them 7 car lenghts to get in. i spent 12 years driving in cali with the last 8 in the central valley driving f450-550's with trailers in rush hour traffic so driving a little ass matrix and it being a company car i have merging down
