WTF did I do to the TV??

I am an electronic moron. All I wanted to do was play a DVD. I knew I shouldn't but do I listen to myself? Oh nooooo! I think I can handle it Yes, I know its simple. Robert has told me many times how simple it is, yet everytime I manage to screw it up. Now I have a TV with a screen full of snow and no sound

So, help me out here. I don't want to have to go without the big TV until March til he gets home It might also be easier if I didn't have 5 f**ing remotes!! The TV will power on, you hear the sound and then snow on the screen and no sound. Usually I use the TV remote to turn it on and off and the remote from Time Warner to change channels. The sound is controlled by the remote to the stereo receiver. I have options on the TV remote of TV, AUX/HD and DVD. Which should it be one? And what should the cable remote be set on? I have buttons for AUX, DVD, VCR, TV and CBL. It probably doesn't help things when I get frustrated and just start pushing buttons And the stereo receiver is on and shows VIDEO. Help me

is there an "input" button on tv remote? If so, push TV, then push INPUT and see if you find the DVD input

Or try channel 3

Is the DVD indication its on and doing something right now?

I thgink the DVD,AUX,CABLE buttons are all for universal remote useage.

I don't know how Robert has your system set up, but my guess is you need to have the TV itself set to channel 3. Bt if it is set up like mine, the video is routed through the receiver and the TV needs to be set to "Video 1".
Robert needs to get you a programmable remote (like a Harmony) so you just press a button for "Watch TV" and all the boxes switch automatically. They're pricey - like $130.

I'm not sure what my major malfunction is with these damned remotes. I've fixed the car, fixed the toilet, taken apart the doorbell and can usually handle most basic task around the house and with the car...I just can't play a damned DVD without screwing up the TV There is NO need for all these damned remotes!!

I don't have an input button on the TV remote, just a button that says TV on it.

Depending on what I push sometimes I have snow and other times If the TV is set on TV and I change the channel, it shows a D 1-0. If I set it on AUX/HD there is snow and an A 03. If the tv is turned off when its set on AUX/HD, it won't power back on until its set back on TV

Brand of TV?

Can you see any of the wires behind the equipment? Trace the wires from the DVD to the TV and see what input name it has.

Have the DVD on and playing, then mash TV buttons until you see something! If you don't have an "input" button it might use channels 0,1,3,4, or even 90-99.

First, if you have a cable box from time warner, make sure it is on.... press the 'CBL' button on that remote.

Second, get the tv to channel 4.. if still snow, try 3. (use tv remote please) If you can't tell just turn the tv off then back on and look for the number.

If you still see snow look on the TV remote for a INPUT/VIDEO/AV/ etc

press that a few times, slowly, to cycle through the inputs on your tv. you should find the picture. If not, pm me and I'll give you my cell #.

I have no clue what I did, but it works now There is no input button on my TV remote. I tried the guide button and it was set on video 1, I pushed something and whatever that something was now the TV works again! I knew about checking it on channel 3, but I just coudn't get to it or if I was on it, I couldn't see it. Thats it...no more DVD's for me!
