How tall is your buggy?

Simple questions. I only ask because mine is getting taller and taller and i'm not liking it... I need clearance for pinon brakes, etc...

What is the tallest part of your rig, how tall?
How high is the belly?
How tall is the bottom of the door panel?
I just need some reassurance that i'm not building a monster truck...

thanks in advance.

My rig sits a touch over 80" tall at the main hoop on 40's but it should come down an inch or two when it gets off jackstands. It's also on 1-tons so I don't have to clear rockwell chunks.

Belly is around 24", slider is around 30".

EDIT: oh yeah, I'm 6'5" so the hoop could be 4" or so lower if I was average height.

I am clearing rockwells. High point on the cage is 85" - but it was built with too much headroom. It could be 80" and I'd have room for my noggin. My frame is about 25" Haven't measured the door bars - but I have a decent boat-side (see avatar)

83' to the top of cage. And 28" to the belly and slider are at 31". I run my pinon brake on the front of the axle so it clear's the oil pan. Rear i run it on the front of the diff to. It has no guard on it. My on rockwells and 42" Irocks. I run with alot of other rockwell rigs. And they are way taller then mine. Just remember that they are unspung weight. Hell mine only weighs in at 4700pds load with tools and me.

I'm using rocks, too. My belly is 22" off the ground at the highest point and the tip-top of the cage is 73" from the ground. I'm running 42" IROKs. I could go lower if the driveshaft wouldn't hit the damn PS pump pulley. I love how low mine is and I love my new Rockwells!

I wouldn't say that is high, especially for a rockwelled rig. And I don't know what type of rig you are building either. (EG what types of constraints you are in.) But I do know one thing ... any amount of effort that you expends in getting that thing even 1" lower is worth it. You will hate life making all the notches and gussets around everything now, but when you wheel it and it is totally and completely stable where all your friends are rolling, it will all become worth it.

i am stuck where it is, the motor is too big (8.1L) it is wide and TALL as all get out. The intake is almost a foot tall, and the oil pan is also almost a foot tall. To keep the oil pan up, the hood got high. TO see over the hood my seats went up. I could have lowered the top of the cage another inch or 2, but my visibilty would go from shit to non existant. I am running unimog u1300 axles, and 49" iroks. So that puts everything up high. I think my floor pan is about 45" off the ground. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=493043

but my rims and tires weigh between 250-300 pounds I think. (49's are 177 and the 20" staz double beadlocks with a 3/8" rock ring are not light weight.) The axles weigh 800 a piece, and then I added another 50 pounds per axle of brackets and steering rams and the such. So 27000-2800 pounds of unsprung weight and being 102" wide and 130" long I hope will keep me planted. I have the drive train centered arround 42" or so, and dont really have anything but tube above that, so the CG should be real low... Figure 2700 lbs centered at 26" off the ground, and the drive train is 1200 centered at 42, and the cage about 2000 centered at 50" should give me a CG arround 37" off the ground. if that number is right, and the supension can not unload, I should be able to stay on all 4 tires even on a 50 degree side hill. Assuming the weight is 60 40 front to back, ascend 65 degrees, and descend 55 degrees. We will see how it goes

if I suck the suspension down 6" that lowers my CG to 34, with that 67 ascend, 57 descend, and side hill arround 55 or so.... Biggest thing is with the susspension sucked down it cant unload, which changes everything...

Im not going to mention my tall ass bitch.

Ok, I am. Dont have actual measurements but here are close guestimates:
Roof is around 92
Doorsill is around 36
belly around 28

And yes, I want it lower. Getting close to ripping it apart and building a buggy.

about 78" tall, 23" under the belly. A few inches taller then I'd like, and the back definitely sits taller then the front

88" to the top of the "B" pillar with 49" iroks.. 28" under the belly and 38" to the floor pans..engine sits low(so low that the top of my LT-1 is 1" below the front fenderline) and 5" back into the firewall to clear the rockwell.. both my f/r driveshafts operate at a 3* downslope at ride height
