Goin old school- new Pro Mod car
Many of you know... our team, and quite a few others are planning to run the 2 seat class in 2007. I think this will become the dominant class over the next few seasons and for our team, it made sense for a lot of reasons to make that jump now.
One of the biggest reasons is the RRock structure- Branden, my 13 yr old son, will be able to race in class at their events on Sundays whilke I take the same car and bump to the supermods on Saturdays. He raced exhibition with my car this year in the legends class and did very well that's him in the first pic ![]() Rokit Enterprises in Tulsa stepped up and volunteered to do the majority of the fab work/car building at their shop in Tulsa. I got to know Dan and crew at BlueTorch over the last few years and they offered to help with some CNC plate burnin, dimple die pieces and misc gussets/ hdwe. The plan is to wrap the car at his place just before the March SEMA Off-road show in Atlanta. We sprung for some of Fox's new 2.5 nitrogen shocks which seem to be the new trend in our sport. Some of the familiar help is around for the car, Detroit Locker, Tru Hi9, Ramsey Winch, Edge products, John's 4x4, Tom Wood's Custom driveshafts and PSC steering components. There's still a few surprises brewing and I'll advise those changes shortly. We stepped up for a Lovell Transfer case which I'm sure will sharpen our competitive edge. The basic premise is to build off what we like in the old front engine single seater and embody that into the new car. The old chassis was sold along with fuel tank cutting brakes, skins and a few other goodies. Much of the car is being recycled including the 3.8 supercharged engine, fresh 904 tranny and custom 9" axles. The car will be first as competitive as we think we can make it- but second- a recreational rig which we have not had in a while- nice to have that going on again. We should be rolling this week and wheeling in two more weeks with the rest of the finish work sorting out in late feb.

Tina usually dresses a little nicer than this..... but she looks good shuffling around the shop drilling, welding, grinding... she like the tubing notcher and has a promising future as a pipe fitter
![]() Branden's been at it to and did a great job teaching mom how to run tools. Steve and I were looking a little tired but getting things done

Rig looks great Ken.
Very cool to see the entire family involved. Glad that RROCK helped that along. Now we'll surely get Tina in the drivers seat for Sherock! Your team is definately headed in the right direction.

Lou- we're doing all of the WEROCK east events, the Grands and if we're lucky enough, the worlds again.
Debbie- Already discussing she-rock, may make it even though it's scheduled on a prime lake weekend

Goofed somehow on measuring the fuel tank- will have to notch more for the upper link...... Rear shock mounts on the chassis are kinda sweet

Looks cool Ken!
But here is my question. Do you thing it will fit into WEROCK and UROCs rules running it with out a cowl? I have the same question about the Red Bull truck running with out a front grill to me this dose not fit in the rule as they read now no matter how cool it looks and yours and the red bull truck look great but to me dose not fit in the 3D look WEROCK and UROC are asking for.

Point taken Steve, and I know your intent is constructive. For starters- it's my intention to have a cowl type panel about 4" tall with the same chevron shape- will likely be two pieces and lexan. I'll remove the one in front of the driver when Branden drives as the hood is a bit tall for him now. So it won't be an official cowl, or straight like a TJ cowl but will be a cowl nonetheless.
Apparently, I can't access UROC rules right now, but the WEROCK rules don't even use the word cowl- so yes, I believe I meet the rules, I've seen hood's/cowls stretched, mine is shorter- no big deal- on a TJ it's continuous of the hood lines till you get to the windshiled panel. It'll be clearly recognizeable as a TJ and even all the skins will have a 3D element. I'm taking the approach of being able to look any other team or promoter in the eye and say "here's what the rule says and this is why i meet it" If I think I might be in grey areas I discusss it ahead of time- some teams and promoters know I've done this in good faith. This was not one of those areas- but i appreciate the input

I dont see how a cowl will make any difference whether it "looks" like a Heep or not. Seems like it will look like a Jeep when it is done to me.
I love the car man....nice!

OK I was just throwing it out there because both Werock and UROC seem to make such a stink about looks but when it come down to following there rules they both seem to fall short. one person can work there ass off and spend big bucks to get a look but the next guy can get away with very little work on looks and still pass.
but if it fits in the rules the way they are written then your good to go in my book. It Dose look good can't wait to see how it works. Welcome to the best class out there.
