VOTE HERE--Greenies trying to close Pismo Beach to vehicles!

First post... NEED YOUR HELP in Pismo Beach, CA to keep beach/dunes open for vehicle recreation!

Only takes 10 seconds...
Please Vote "All vehicles should be welcome" below: (poll closes Thursday)
Newspaper On-Line Poll HERE

The Eco-Nazis here are always trying to find a reason to close the beach to recreation. It's been open for over 100 years, but there is always a new excuse. It's the ONLY FIVE MILES of California coast open for vehicle recreation and family camping! What gives with these greedy people?

The weekly newspaper poll above stays up until Thursday March 29. The "Close the Beach" crowd was way ahead for a while, but I rallied some votes. But, now they are moving up again--please vote and keep them smacked down!

I hope some of you can make it to the California Coast sometime to cruise the sand and hazard the Arroyo Grande Creek crossing! I've put some pictures below for your pleasure:

The Good:

The Bad:

The REALLY UGLY: (Should've waited for low-tide!)

Being from tat area, they are always trying to close it, and like evrywhere else is seriously impacted by its tiny size in comparison to all the people that come here, along with that more people means more jack asses wich gives the eco's more fuel to close it down.... it suks..

if they do close it down you will know me as the "Plover Hunter" hell i cant even let my dog off out there anymore without being in violation of some fucked up law...

Thanks for the "snapshot" nahmus-- 'THEY' have been stuck at 5.5% after I initially slammed them with votes. ALL OF A SUDDEN TODAY, they are climbing FAST! I think they finally caught on to posting on a forum!

So, now I'm asking for help in a couple of the busiest and best (brown-nosing couldn't hurt!) forums out there! I know you guys can come through.

Thanks again!

I also wrote a letter to the author of the article. Her obvious bias in the article, which is not an editorial, is completely straying from the objectivity that is supposed to be a core value of journalists.

Thanks, all! The "No Vehicles" crowd has managed to go from 5.5% to 7.5% so every vote is important to keep them down.

You guys are all great! My first post is asking for some help from the off-road community and you've all pitched in, thanks. I'm going to the County Board of Supervisors meeting next month when this issue gets voted on and I will speak. I know there will be a lot of enviro-whacks speaking as well. It's nice to know they are other people willing to put up some fight against this selfish take-over.

I also wrote emails to the Board and hopefully we'll get to keep Pismo for the future. Hope some of you can make it out sometime to play!

Just realized...
If you close the page and revisit later, it will count your vote again. I think they're only going on session ID's for the votes. Not sure what the session expiration time is, but I've voted 5 or 6 times now (verified by seeing poll results, going back and voting, seeing vote count increase by one).

Not so sure about that... I've tried it. I think the votes are coming in from other people so quick that it might have faked you out. You can vote from home and work and tell your mom to vote, though.

Sept. '03 - We found this lip on Sand Highway and stayed away from it since anyone can approach it from any possible angle. It was my first trip, and I was most worried about kids on bikes or quads. It's in the first few moments of this video. (THERE'S A SWEAR WORD IN THE BEGINNING)

http://www.hepcoblue.com/Videos/Manfroy_2003.WMV

Then a gaggle of rangers and ambulances came within about 100 yards of there (white tailgate at the left) to attend to a doof who tried to make glass with his face. We circled back around and asked them if it would be ok to jump it as long as we set some people and vehicles up to mark that something was going on there. They said OK! Everytime I jumped it (3-4 times) I actually rolled out past them and turned back onto sand highway where they were attending to the injured rider. I went slow and kept eye contact and waved and then slowed when I got near them and they waved me on and encouraged me everytime. They were very cool.

I talked to a wholly different ranger in camp a few hours later, and asked him why they fenced off a section near the beach that effectively cause many dumbasses to get stuck going around it. He said somebody reported a snowy plover there, so they blocked off a few acres to let it have it's space. Then he told me the ONLY snowy plover he knew about that has been killed by vehicles was run over by a ranger. Go figure.

I've been there and it is gorgeous. Aside from the dirt bikes and 500cuin big blocks roaring by my tent at 3am when I am dead tired from driving all day it's a blast.
