Chocolate Chip COOKIES

I need the best recipe you got! BTW when I make them they have the problem of being too thick and not "spreading out."

aww not even born yet and you're making your mom cookies for mother's day. That's sweet.

I use the Toll House Cookie recipe on the back of the package.

Look for recipes with pudding in the batter! Like vanilla jello brand pudding. I wish I knew mom's recipe offhand or had it here at work, sorry! The pudding makes them soooo soft yet still thoroughly cooked!! Even 3 or 4 days later they're still super good!!

When she makes cookies, EVERYONE begs for the recipe!!

Edit: Similar to this recipe from what I can recall (no, I DO NOT bake them at home, my fiance does!!)

INGREDIENTS
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown.

Check these out, variations on how to do puffy and thin on the bottom of the link. They're based on the toll house recipe. Look closely and you'll see what differences make what cookie type.

To get them to spread out, only soften the butter before mixing up the batch, don't melt it.
