ok, I live across the street from my sons elementary school. The cross walk goes into my neighbors driveway. I normally get home from work at the time school gets out and there is (4 out of 5 days a week) a parent parked directly in front of my driveway(blocking my whole driveway). Ive asked the parents who park there several times not to do so and had a couple of conflicts(threats to kick my ass, cops called because I didnt back down including a threat from me to just drive my toyota directly over there car to get out). We have had numerous threats including a girl threatning to kick my pregnant wife's ass because there kids have to walk 20 more feet to where their parents are parked.


How would the PBB deal with it any answers extreme or nice would be appreciated, as this has gone on way too long.

also when i call the parking patrol or the sherrif's dept' the response is 2 hours later. the chp seam to be faster at a half an hour. i'm about to drive over some one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if your home and they are blocking what happens in an emergency, like the wife thinks her water broke.... you would have to ramm them out of the way.

I second the airhorns. Pull right up so your car/truck is inches from theirs, then lay on the horn and keep it held tell they move. Don't talk, don't ask politely, just keep the horn blasting and your car/rig so close they can't open their door.

Maybe you could talk to the city about it and ask them to mark it as a no parking area?
Do you have another car? Park it there during the day. Move it when you get home.

Get some cones and put them out with a "no parking" or "Do not block driveway" sign in it? Or one of those road blocks?

Paint your truck red with "Fire Truck" painted on it. Then get the sign about Fire truck exit/entrance.

Earn sympathy from the baby makers and put something up about "Labor and Delivery Emergency Exit-do not block!"


Get those annoying big orange stickers that are impossible to peel off printed with "This person blocks driveways" and stick it on anyone's car who parks there.


I understand it's frustrating. I used to live by a school too and people would park in front of my house (I didn't have a driveway) so I had no where to park. If you're getting threats of kicking your ass or your wife is getting threats of kicking her ass, you need to alter your approach. Nobody wants to do a favor for someone acting like a hothead.

Spray paint yellow "no parking" stripes over the entrance to the your driveway and add violators will be towed signs. Tow them to your back yard and demand fee for return.

Make friends with the city tow guy and tell him about your problem. IF he gets out and hooks a car up the car is impounded and they have to pay to get it out. At my office we get people parking in our spots that are for patient use only and we ahve a sign posted. If they refuse to leave if asked we call the city and they tow it out.

Put a sign out and have the tow guy down the street. Warn the school if they park in front of your driveway you will have them towed.

You could always buy a POS and park in front of your place so no one can park there. Buy a few cars and really take up all the parking and every couple of days move the cars around. Space them just far enough apart so people can't parallel park. Sooner or later they will leave you alone.

That is illegal.
Start taking pictures and including the license plate.
Take pictures to parking enforcment and have them issue citations.
If this doesn't work OR if no citations are issued, call your city coucilman.
If that doesn't work call the mayors office.
Be a pain in the ass to the city until THE CITY gets these parents to stop breaking the law.

Carry a camera and start takeing pics of anyone who dosnt move. Follow up with a call to the cops and print out the pics and demand that the cops write a report. Keep it up and sooner or later the cops will deal with it. You could also go to the city counsel meeting and complain. Go complain to the principal of the school and when he/she dosnt get results go to the distric supperentendant.

Have a sprinkler timer come on right before the start parking there and have the sprinklers aimed at the road enough to where the kids can't get in their ride.
