I just wanted to pass along a reminder from the USFS Resource Officers. Make sure you stop by a ranger station and pickup a campfire permit before you get to the trail.
You need a campfire permit for fires, stoves, lanterns, or BBQs. Straight from the EDNF website: Quote:
Also, do not expect the resource officers to write you a permit out on the trail! That's like asking the game warding for a fishing license after you are already caught poaching. Please plan ahead and get your permit before you go. More information at http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/passes/campfire/ It's worth taking a few minutes to review and remember. Last year we had a couple fires due to campfires that were not properly put out. |
