I see the wedge in there to hold the blade in place.

Is there some means of controlling or limiting depth?

That's pretty. It would serve no purpose for me, 'cept as a really pretty paper weight...but it is gorgeous. I like pretty wood.

You use a hammer to adjust the depth on wooden planes Travis. Once you get it down it's actually a shitload faster and easier than the bailey design (there's a lot of backlash inherent in that design). To drive it deeper, you tap the front of the plane, to back it off you hit the back then tighten the wedge. I can get Norris adjusters pretty easily, but they're about $150 then I'd have to have a cap iron as well.. making it about $250 for the supplies alone.

I made a Jack plane length when I first started woodworking, right after reading Krenovs first book, (imagine that ). Only problem was that the blade I had was 2 3/8 wide, the thing looks like a Paduk clog

Yea, reading Krenov will do that to ya! Making krenov style planes is like crack! Especially since I can get nice thick irons relatively easily and don't have to worry about a chipbreaker! I've got a couple more on my list that I want to make before I start to figure out how to make rounds and coves and other edge planes. Those things are hard to find, be nice to make a full set.

You know he's no longer making cabinets, but he's making and selling planes... right?

I saw that. The first one he put up on ebay went for close to two grand I believe.

I had one of the guys from Lie-Nielsen over today repairing the shipping damage on my bench, it's sweet
