So? Waht happened to common courtesy

I was on a singletrack trail today on my mountain bike. Coming down I was taking it a little easy because I am not super familiar with the trail. It follows along the side of a canyon and a missed line could put down the side.

I stopped for a father and his YOUNG children that were hiking up and this jackass on a Specialized Epic with matching outfit (homo) goes flying by me. Granted, I move over for faster riders but there were some small kids walking around.

A few minutes down the trail I have my iPod up (I know, stupid, I promptly turned it down) and hit a really technical section and bam, this other Specialized riding matching outfit home goes flying by me and yells "turn your music down". Realizing my mistake, I do just that.

I come around a bend about 3 minutes later and see the same guy going down the trail, I figure "thats odd, he was flying". I then hear yelling and see another rider coming up. seems Specialized guy nailed this other rider hard enough to taco his rear wheel. it still rolled but was visibly bent standing still.

These two are yelling back and forth about whos fault it was. I helped the uphill guy best I could and followed him back down to the bottom to make sure he made it ok.

Well, other dude is at the bottom putting his $4000 bike on his $70000 Lexus SUV. They start to argue, after about 5 minutes I let them both know that I am a cop and I don't want to have to call for an officer because two grown men are fighting.

Broken rim guy thanks me and takes off. Specialized douche starts getting an attitude. Instead of pulling the cop thing, I give him an epic speech about how bikers need to look out for each other and blah blah blah. He says "glad you have it all under control tough guy" so I told him that I hope he gets ass cancer and has to shit in a bag the rest of his life.

Cliff notes: Guy on a bike was a complete prick after hitting some other nice guy on a bike.

Unfortunately, that is common courtesy. I've noticed that it's expected from yuppies.

So you're in the middle of nowhere with a guy who needs an ass kicking, there's a guy who's up for it, and you say, "I'm a cop, i can't let this happen." Sounds like you're the queer.

You should have let the other guy know that, as an impartial officer, that you might have found Mr. Trendy McSpandex at fault if there was an accident involving nice guy's vehicle and Trendy McSpandex's Lexus.

Common courtesy and proper manners went away when the duel was outlawed.

One of my older brothers is a LEO and he probably would have helped bent-rim-guy kick rich guy's ass, then shot him and took the bike and pimped his ride around town.
Common courtesy says to help out when a good ass kicking is needed.

Slower, you just made up for everything I ever could have taken offense with.

Nice job. Good cop, go buy a box of donuts.

However, I think I would have played the cop card harder and threatened the spandex dude with a ticket for disorderly conduct (God knows I've been threatened with it enough). Then, I would have shot him and taken his Lexus and bicycle

I would at Least have let the other guy ruin the yuppy's rim & called it even.
If the yuppy caused a fuss, then let the other guy kick him in the 'nads.

You also could have prevented the whole bike accident by shooting the
Specialized Spandex homo when he yelled for you to turn your iPod down.

That crossed my mind. Let them go at it for a while and then pull the "unreasonable noise that disturbs the public" card.

Honestly, I didn't want to see bent rim guy get in trouble. The city I live in is known for its "fussy police". It is not the town I work in.

I guess I'm just used to breaking them up.

Maybe I am queer for not allowing the fight, thing is, the Utah Post council has had a hard on lately for decertifying police officers. allowing a fight to occur in my prescense would get me in trouble for sure.

As far as the council would've known, you came upon the fight in progress...
