Goin old school with a 67' Pontiac
I picked up this 1967 Lemans Goat wannabe. I've wanted a 67 muscle car for 20 years, since I was born in 67. This car was assembled in Baltimore, as was I.
![]() It's been mostly cloned into a GTO, 389, interior, grilles, etc, etc, etc. I am losing the badges, but keeping the grilles and stuff. We are rolling it through the paint booth in a couple weeks. Now for the fun stuff, I am thinking of doing a period correct piece, hopped up style. Kind of like what a guy in 1970 would of done. I started a thread on a Pontiac board, and it's pretty funny, I figured some of you old bastards could add to the recommendations. http://forums.performanceyears.com/f...d.php?t=524826 Here's how it sits at the moment.

That's a beaut, man. Nice find!
I'm also on hotrodders.com, and they're a great crowd that would love this car & have a lot of good advice. Be forwarned, tho, they're much more V2.0 than V1.0...way PC. ![]() Keep us posted!

Swap in the correct 6 pack set-up, headers, better distributor & a cam. Don't forget the cable actuated exhaust cut-outs before the mufflers. We used to run the adjustable air shocks on the back to get around height restrictions at the rear bumper. Get pulled over, let air out of the shocks.

Keep the factory rallies and the same stance as it is now. Add a Edelbrock Performer intake and a Quadrajet of similar year and you should be golden. Do not go with a Torquer or similar intake, as they perform worse than a factory 4bbl on an ill equipped motor.

I've heard the torquer sucks ass. Ironic, because these poncho engines are known for making a lot of torque. ![]() I'm looking for a 400 or 455 block that I can build over the next year or two, while i wear out this suprisingly strong and well running 389 that currently resides in my engine bay. I have to lock this bitch up, leaving a peg leg stripe is immasculating!
