Help me find this person or research them. Possible thieves

Had my car and my GF's car broken into a couple of months ago. Got my stereo, and my oakleys, her car alarm went off and they bailed. They were fast, because I was grilling out. Flipped the steaks, went inside, and the car alarms go off. The apartment complex knows the bastards who did it, but since they don't want to get involved, they won't give out names (they used to be tennants). The cops hands are tied since in order to get the name the need a warrant. Need more info to get a warrant than just hearsay.

Stereo was a POS, good sunglasses, but the car repairs totalled over $400.

Fast forward to today. See a truck with this pair of sunglasses exactly like what I had. These are no normal pair of shades. They are silver with bright orange lenses and ear pieces. I have only seen two in my travels ever. I had to order them to get the pair. Well I see a pair in this dash of a truck. This truck is doing windsheild repairs on cars at a carlot....... The guy who's driving the truck has a pair of shades on, and this pair sitting in the dash...

A pair of $175 Oakleys just layin around as spares......

I don't believe in coincidences, so I call and see about the company. It's based out of my area. 5 miles away from where I live.

Okay to sum it up:
1) Rare expensive shades just laying in the dash
2) The guy works on windows
3) Lives in my area

Now I don't want to jump the gun and get anyone in trouble or cost anyone their job for my paranoia. But I have some clues from the breakin that if I can find out more about this person I will know if I have him or not.
For instance I know the vehicle he was in, I also know he has a brother that lives with him who was in on it.

Google gives me squat. Any other recommendations? I just want my justifiable revenge on thieves.

I'd tail the fawker and see what he does in his free time. Learn as much as you can. If he is a thief then you will probably catch him in the act eventually.

Do it all friendly, like: "Hey, what's going on? I recognized you, I used to hang out with your brother when he lived in whatever apartment." At least you'll stand a chance of finding out some info.

if you have solid names on them, do a search on Intelius.com and pay for the simple background check it'll give you prior addresses. if you confirm that they lived in your complex before then you've got the right jackasses.

Sometimes the insurance investigators are juuuuust intimidating enough to get folks - like your property managers - to spill the beans.

I know this is the no-fun, no-intimidation, no-chance of arrest for assault way to go, but heck, its a start.

Been there-donethat-taken the ride in the cruiser in handcuffs ... not my idea of a good time anymore.

I haven't seen him about the shop replacing windsheilds lately. I asked the manager if he was still doing it, and he said yes. So I apparently keep missing him. I am not going to his place of biz. If I am a dumbass and am wrong, I don't want to get him in trouble. Then I will definitely deserve a beating. If I can spot him, I will go up and ask. I told the manager to tell me when he shows up. That was last Friday.

So in short, no new updates.

Not if the criminal was a past resident. They are claiming that by giving out his information (because the know it) they are violating his privacy. So until they are subpoeaned they won't give it out. Bastids.
